Pick a source they all have reported it.....again I stated IF what is being reported is true this has zero to do with the borders. Based upon what other member here had posted earlierI haven’t seen one source yet that has stated this
Agree, it may not be border related - at least not directly and perhaps not at all.Pick a source they all have reported it.....again I stated IF what is being reported is true this has zero to do with the borders. Based upon what other member here had posted earlier
Especially if this individual didn't act alone.....extremely concerningAgree, it may not be border related - at least not directly and perhaps not at all.
I'm more concerned about the ISIS piece . . . that ideology is incompatible with our way of life & we ignore it at our peril.
Yeah def right call. Besides being sensitive to what just happened, Probably need a thorough sweeping of all facilities to assure no IEDsThe Sugar Bowl is being postponed? I thought I just heard the announcers in the Texas game stating so and they are just getting word.
ESPN just called it a terrorist actEspecially if this individual didn't act alone.....extremely concerning
Even if true there’s no arguing the fact we have an untold number of bad actors in the country unaccounted for, we can expect more of this in the future, whether from radicalized US citizens or unvetted folks coming through a porous borderPick a source they all have reported it.....again I stated IF what is being reported is true this has zero to do with the borders. ESPN commentators for the UT - ASU game just spent the last 2 minutes letting the audience know the Sugar Bowl is going to be postponed due to the TERRORIST attack. Why would they announce this live on a nationally televised game calling it a terrorist attack?Stop. Please.
The truck used in the attack that killed at least 10 people in New Orleans on New Year’s Day was listed on the car rental site Turo, the vehicle’s owner told CNN in a text message.
Two federal law enforcement officials also told CNN the truck did not belong to the suspect. One of the sources added it was rented on a site that owners use to rent out their own cars.
The vehicle, a white Ford F-150 Lightning electric truck, is registered to a Houston man who has worked for the car dealership where the vehicle was sold, according to public records based on the vehicle’s license plate. The man told CNN the vehicle was listed on Turo, a website that allows owners to rent out their vehicles to other people.
The driver of the truck was an American citizen from Houston.
Entirely different subject....you should create a thread on thatEven if true there’s no arguing the fact we have an untold number of bad actors in the country unaccounted for, we can expect more of this in the future, whether from radicalized US citizens or unvetted folks coming through a porous border
We’ll all entitled to our opinions but the border will prove to be a pain point, already is from a financial perspective as well as the senseless murders that have already taken place across the country. We spend hundreds of billions annually now over our borders crisis
It can have to do with our border if it was a coordinated, planned attack. Was the killer tied to something larger than his own beliefs? This unfolding investigation will yield a lot more than what we laypeople know now. Need to wait and see.Pick a source they all have reported it.....again I stated IF what is being reported is true this has zero to do with the borders. Not to mention I have heard from people in Texas that the culture there has changed; a ton of bad actors in the state who do not have our values. It can have to do with our border if it was a coordinated, planned attack. Was the killer tied to something larger than his own beliefs? This unfolding investigation will yield a lot more than what we laypeople know now. Need to wait and see.
Sure, it can have something to do with our border because the truck was probably manufactured in Mexico and imported into the country for Ford. People are so quick to jump to conclusions before the facts are even out. I’m not saying this wasn’t an awful, hideous terrorist attack. But so far the evidence has shown it was a truck available for anybody to rent on Turo, the idiot who perpetrated this crime was an American citizen and anything else that’s spewed out without the facts is just speculation. It can have to do with our border if it was a coordinated, planned attack. Was the killer tied to something larger than his own beliefs? This unfolding investigation will yield a lot more than what we laypeople know now. Need to wait and see.
I’m not a “MAGA” guy, by the way. Fox’s reporter only cited source that the truck crossed the border in November driven by someone other than the New Orleans driver. I never identified the driver’s birth country, name or background. I subscribe to the WSJ, NYT, a Gannett online newspaper, a statewide North Carolina printed paper, and routinely watch a variety of news stations ranging from conservative to liberal. I’m an old UF journalism product who predates activist journalism and from a very old newspaper lineage. Think whatever you want.
Too lazy….Entirely different subject....you should create a thread on that
Again all speculation, based upon the facts that are being reported it has nothing to do with border policies. Again, that is an entirely different subject and should have it's own thread. You should create thatIt can have to do with our border if it was a coordinated, planned attack. Was the killer tied to something larger than his own beliefs? This unfolding investigation will yield a lot more than what we laypeople know now. Need to wait and see.
Literally all major news networks lie or drive false narratives. Doesn’t mean can’t cite their reporting. The same Fix News thatvpaid almost a Billion dollarsxin a civil suit that admited they openly lie to their viewers and arexan entertainment network.
I mean, why believe anything they initially report. I mean anything when they admit they lie. And now X and all thesecother folks ran with it, Trump posted it and said it was a "border" issue.

c'mon man. I believe what you wrote above, but why post what Faux News post?

I haven’t seen one source yet that has stated this

You mean the networks that for four years spewed BS about a Russia collusion when they knew it wasn’t true or the ones that stated the laptop was a Russian operation or the ones that said One Nut Joe was as fit as a fiddle, not those networks, no wayYes, try the failed networks like CNN and MSDNC. They're both so reputable. Lol
Culture in the big cities has changed. The rest of the state is still Texas. The last 4 years have been an invasion of our state. Those coming in are from many other places than Mexico. Not to mention I have heard from people in Texas that the culture there has changed; a ton of bad actors in the state who do not have our values.
So you really want to argue about the integrity of news networks, I can give you a dozen ridiculous news stories run over the last 8 years that have all been proven to be untrue and while they spent those years insisting it was true they knew all along the story was BSYeah ok. If you believe that, and compare what Fox does. Then continue to believe dumb 💩 they post. What they posted has been debunked in a mattercof hours, again.
But yeah, I see what you're saying it is the same.
Wrong. Fox cited federal sources - - the FBI. I’ve met illegals here who’ve easily acquired drivers’ licenses. For years, too, I saw illegals dropped off outside my office windows. None spoke English and each carried a hard-built suitcase. Two trucks would shortly arrive. The driver of a late model Ford would get out, trade the key for the suitcase and climb into the passenger side of the other pick-up and drive off. The new arrival meantime would climb behind the wheel of the white Ford and drive away. This happened repeatedly.
2004: "Fake but accurate"So you really want to argue about the integrity of news networks, I can give you a dozen ridiculous news stories run over the last 8 years that have all been proven to be untrue and while they spent those years insisting it was true they knew all along the story was BS
If ratings matter it’s apparent CNN, mSNBC and even prime time news outlets are in trouble
Thanks for asking. Much earlier and throughout the day I’ve watched ABC News, the BBC. Fox News, the Wall Street Journal online, the New York Times’s multiple reports and updates. Another poster innocently asked where I heard (or read?) about information on the truck. I honestly replied, a Fox News reporter citing an FBI report. I could have gotten the information from any number of other outlets reporting on this horrific tragedy but in flipping channels saw it there first. I watch virtually everything that covers these stories because I don’t trust any of them to report accurately or without political bias. At that point, that was all the information the FBI or local police had reported. The same Fix News thatvpaid almost a Billion dollarsxin a civil suit that admited they openly lie to their viewers and arexan entertainment network.

I am too but so many people came into town to watch that game so moving it to say Saturday would have a huge impact on the fans there to watch the game. Tough situation for sure. This story is just crazy so far....I'm surprised that didn't postpone the Sugar Bowl for a longer period...very sad
Yes it’s disturbing,“Fear mongering”….its disturbing that this could happen regardless of where this individual is from. I think “fear mongering” was a poor categorization.
Oh, never fear guys….US citizen. All good here.

I much regret this post has turned into anything political or posters attacking me or anyone, something I have not done to another person. Our focus should be primarily on the blow to victims, their families and to our nation, regardless of the source of the assault.
My wife and I have strong, deep attachment to New Orleans where I worked right out from graduating from UF. We in effect started our married life there, building friendships and enduring ties there. She worked in a boutique chain bookstore on Royal Street ss their children’s literature specialist. She got off and on the NOPSI bus exactly at Bourbon Street and Canal Street as a commuter from our apartment near Notre Dame Seminary. We both were at that intersection countless times. Our affection for New Orleans runs deep.
Not an immigrant who “crossed the border” Brad, I’m just correcting the spread of false information. Do you have a problem with that or do you prefer to live in your own delusion?right up there with the gang only took over a few apartment buildings ...
Well, if it only a few, then that's just peachy ... right?
Yeah, most definitely....not to mention the winning team has to play a week later....very tough. They haven't even removed the bodies from Bourbon Street as of yet. And they are still sweeping for more IEDsI am too but so many people came into town to watch that game so moving it to say Saturday would have a huge impact on the fans there to watch the game.
