OMG what a way to lose. They were the better team I have not seen the gators implode so much in two games.

LOL wow I love watching people get so personal like breaking their TV. Now that is funny!!!!

Told ya it was coming. I hate to be true but I've watched every game that was on TV or ESPN 3 this year and seen the difference between the beginning -middle of the year to middle - end of the year. Their bats got lost over the plate the more and more they played.

I agree with Hardee. I've watch probably 50 of the games they played and they were not the same team the last 4-6 weeks of the season that they were early and midway. I hate losing to Georgia in anything and feel bad for the seniors, but some of the seniors didn't step up like they needed to and Georgia just looked hungry and deserved to win the series. Great run for the Gators, but it had to end sometime.

BTW this is why Instant Replay also needs to be in Baseball and Softball...Too many times they make the wrong call.
y
unless LSU gets a botched call to lead the game at the plate, then there is no review until another call is botched for a double called foul the next inning. It's all a joke

and so was this set up for the two time defending champs in their bracket much less a laughable callthat literally directly led to their loss to end the season. I told you it was gonna happen this way, they couldn't possibly let us get the advantage like an alabama even with our dominance, we always get screwed in every sport all the way around. it's obviously never gonna end

numbers I was thinking the same thing whenever the brackets came out. Every year they are gunning for UF no matter where they are in the brackets. Crazy stuff but true.

You realize it was not a senior that floated an over the plate pitch to a power hitter. On a -2 count non the less?

How anyone can impugn these seniors is beyond me.

We had an incredibly easy regional. Run ruled two teams and shut out all of them. UGA had an RPI of 19 coming into the regionals. They were not under or over seeded imo. They were an legitimate host to a regional. Certainly not much better than a 16 though. They lost one game in their regional.

They got hot. Our team played very, very tight. It happens.

Please don't besmirch the job these seniors have done in their careers. They took a program that was a bit on the ropes and took them to three consecutive WCWS and won two.

They are tied with the seniors from last year as the greats set of seniors in the history of the program.

In no way did I besmirch the seniors. The simple fact is that the entire team did not play up to their potential and Georgia deserved to win the series. We had opportunities to add to our 2-1 lead and just couldn't drive in runs when we had the opportunities. Leaving runners stranded in scoring position has been a problem all year and the truth is that a couple of the seniors did not play as well this year as they have in the past. When you compare the numbers it's just a fact. They have nothing to hang their heads about for all they accomplished and I'm sure the girls that remain will use this as motivation for next year. I love Gator softball and applaud the coaches and players for making it one of the nation's elite programs. Can't wait 'til next year.

Nobody is dissin' the Seniorsbut maybe next time Coach Walton will not be talk the talk with " the greatest Seniors to ever play the game". If u don't finish then what r u?

But I expect the pitching will be great next year and a lot of new batters will be up at the plate starting over. They will be back but I hope this doesn't hurt recruiting which is more of my point.

The softball stadium needs a major upgrade. That will do a lot to keep recruiting at a high level. We're falling behind other top softball programs in the nation in regards to facilities and I understand that's it's the next project in line after the O'Dome is finished. Sure hope that's right.

Really? Then, explain this factual information for us.... o_O

2016 Softball Season -- 56-7, 20-4 SEC

Feb 20th - UF 3 - 1 Elon
Feb 25th - UF 2 - 1 UCLA
Feb 26th - UF 3 - 1 Wash
Feb 27th - UF 1 - 0 Utah

Mar 4th - UF 3 - 1 FL Int
Mar 6th - UF 4 - 1 FL A&M
Mar 14th - UF 4 - 5 Aub
Mar 19th - UF 4 - 2 Tenn
Mar 20th - UF 3 - 0 Tenn
Mar 25th - UF 3 - 0 LSU
Mar 25th - UF 3 - 0 LSU (again)

Apr 1st - UF 1 - 2 Ala
Apr 2nd - UF 3 - 2 Ala
Apr 3rd - UF 0 - 3 Ala
Apr 6th - UF 3 - 1 UCF
Apr 13th - UF 1 - 0 FSU
------------
Apr 16th-17th - (3 games) UF 22 - 2 LaLaf (-20)
Apr 22nd > 24th (3 games) UF 25 - 4 MsSt (-21)
Apr 29th > May 1st (3 games) UF 25 - 12 aTm (-13)

May 6th > 8th UF 22 - 0 Ark

May 20th > 22nd - UF 24 - 0 NCAA Regionals

I'd say that they've had their ups and downs all across the entire season, but it's been mostly ups. 56-7, 20-4

The 1st base ref's missed call likely cost UF the game and maybe the eventual NC. The UGA HR would have only tied the game if 1st base was empty, as it should have been. --- Aw-well

I think this is true for both the softball and baseball stadiums

Nobody is dissin' the Seniors but (sorry, but yes you did/have) maybe next time Coach Walton will not be talk the talk with " the greatest Seniors to ever play the game". If u don't finish then what r u?

==============

2016 Super Reg vs UGA --- Career
K.Merritt - 2 of 4 = .500 ----- Career .306 - Fielding .984
A.Munroe - 2 of 5 = .400 --- Career .251 - Fielding .997
K.Stewart - 0 of 6 = .000 --- Career .395 - Fielding .963
T.Fuller ---- 0 of 4 = .000 ---- Career .244 - Fielding .980
T.Schwarz - 0 of 1 = .000 --- Career .252 - Fielding .991

Seniors Combined Batting 4 of 20 = .200
Kelsey is the only one that surprised me in the Super, she was definitely off her game, both at bat and at SS, but that happens to everybody occasionally. Fuller and Schwarz never were more than just average batters. On the other hand, both Merritt and Munroe were much better than expected at the plate.

However....
The Junior LHP with the season .070 ERA left the 1st game with a .080 season ERA after giving up 3 runs.
The Sophomore RHP with the season .065 ERA left the 2nd game with a .077 season ERA after giving up 3 runs.
But I don't blame either the coaches or the players as much as I blame the game officials for ending the Gator's season early... Guano Occurs
