Simple Question: What overmatched ACC team will Jimbo lose to this year?

So the schedule:

vs Bama

Vs LaMonroe

Vs Miami

Vs NCSU

@ Wake Forest

BYE

@ Duke

@ Louisville

@ BC

Vs Syracuse

@ Clemson

Vs Del State

@ Florida

The BYE is kind of in an unfortunate place. Right before playing 4 of 5 games on the road, between two schools they SHOULD beat. And technically 4 straight games on the road.

It's a hard schedule to pick, but I'll try.

vs Bama L

Vs LaMonroe W

Vs Miami W

Vs NCSU L

@ Wake Forest W

BYE

@ Duke W

@ Louisville L

@ BC W

Vs Syracuse W

@ Clemson L

Vs Del State W

@ Florida L

I might switch Miami and NCSU.

Clemson and Florida I think are toss ups. If Clemson really takes a step back (which I feel like they will, then FSU should win that, and my Florida prediction is based off of a better offense).

I think, regardless, Clemson will be tough coming down the stretch after all those road games and only a slight reprieve at home.

Louisville is at home. 5 losses is funny though, that hasn't happened since Jeff Bowden was around.

FSU will finish 10-2. UF finishes 8-4, but ONLY if everything breaks right.

I'm sorry you can't count, because it's 4 losses, and I already gave caveats to both Clemson and Florida.

5 Good Opponents, 4 total Patsies, 3 middle of the roads.
7 Automatic wins with 5 toss-ups.

Building up the game plan in Aug, then vs Bama - 14-1

2 weeks working on the scUM game plan, Vs LaMonroe - 4-8

Vs Miami - 9-4

Coasting and recovering for the next 5 weeks and game planning for UL.

Vs NCSU - 7-6

@ Wake Forest - 7-6

BYE

@ Duke - 4-8

@ Louisville - 9-4

Then coasting for the next 3 weeks and game planning for Clem.

@ BC - 7-6

Vs Syracuse - 4-8

@ Clemson - 14-1

Then like UF will be doing, recovering/planning for 2 weeks before that final game of the regular season.

Vs Del State - D2

@ Florida - 9-4

UA & Clem's-son are the most likely losses.
The 3 teams that were 9-4 are the season make or break games.
The other 7 should be sure wins.
Somewhere between 9 and 11 wins is the usual and/or expected outcome.
Put your money where ever you're feeling lucky....

PS

NCSt is their usual in-conf. over-matched nemesis, the way VU is ours... o_O

lol no fear of Florida, they big time now.

I wouldnt say we fear playing Florida. Its been an easy/automatic win for the past 4 yrs or so. If UF does not field a good QB this yr, i will feel the same way.

I think we lose 2 this yr. If we beat bama. I can only see us losing 1 game. This is our most experienced team on both sides of the ball in a long time. Very talented. A returning QB who was good. We have a tough schedule. Not everybody plays that ACC schedule where its a dog fight every week

We wont go 4 and 8 either...... See, we could do this all day
And what does that have to do with McElwain or any player on this UF team? UF won't likely go 0-11 or 1-10 this year like FSU has done before. UF has had a winless season as well. So when a stupid FSU fan brings up Georgia Southern what does that have to do with anything related to this 2017 UF team????

hhhmmm

doubt we lose to NCState at home; however, scUM could sneak up on us. I think UL will be a revenge game and Jackson lost all his weapons from last year, so I see us winning that one. Jimbo tends to lay an egg against an opponent that does one thing really well, but sucks in general; see GT's option, BC's line and long RB, NCState's QB(s), etc. ...so, BC will be #1 in some random stat and it will be used to beat FSU something like 21-17.

There's a reason I mentioned switching the Miami and NCSU picks.

I can see FSU beating Miami and then overlooking the Wolfpack, or losing to Miami and then destroying them.

I don't disagree with a BC or GT upset, I was conflicted about not picking one of those, but I figured Louisville may be a safer choice so I didn't get completely ridiculed by some people that can't fathom losing any games.

I could see that happen. It's not realistic that FSU will beat scUM for all eternity (despite how lovely that would be).

Unless FSU's oline is much much better I'm not seeing the top 5 ranking with them. There were times last year I actually felt bad for Francois watching them play. And it'll be interesting to see how they replace Cook too because he was almost like a cheat code. Similar to us when we had Harvin any time we needed a play he'd come through and make bad plays calls look like genius play calls just by being a star.

Well 5 yes ago is completely different than 50 yrs ago. I get that common sense eludes u. Modern day football fsu has not had a terrible season. Nothing close to 4 and 8. Sory but u guys win for worst season between the two programs in modern day football.

Yea, Francois played with a lot of courage last year. He took a beating.

That's pretty much what I bring up every time a Bama fan starts saying something like "I don't know man, FSU is pretty good, might be tough."

Their OL was a wreck last year and the only good guy on it is gone.

I actually think they lost their top two on the line. I guess that could be good or bad because maybe you could say they sucked anyway so maybe losing players isn't the worse thing, but otherwise yea looks like Francois might be in for more beatings. I got UM and Clemson as two of the better d-lines in the country. Bama is TBD but they'll have tons of bodies at a minimum.

I could see FSU's defense giving Bama's offense hell though if Hurts hasn't gotten much better as a passer.

Not saying FSU wins but Bama lost like 29 guys to the draft as well as their OC. Not like they are rolling out the team they finished with either. From what I hear their OL is not supposed to be earth moving to start. We will see. On the flip FSU lost a couple guys, mainly Cookie and Walker, but RB appears to be deep as does the pass rush. Cook won't be replaced overnight but Patrick, Rasul and Akers seems like a pretty good 1,2,3. The OL is key for FSU imo.

Ina all honesty, our o line the yr we won the title, our o line was just as bad. Jameis jus got rid of the ball quicker. In the national title game Auburn was the first team to be able to cover our receivers for 2 seconds so tjey had a ton of pressure on him. In 14 when we went undefeated our o line was actually worse than last yr but again, we had jameis. I thought the game jameis played against ND that yr, was the best passing game from a college qb i had ever seen with pressure on him. Look up the highlights. He was getring blasted every play and still anticipating throws and dominating. If jameis was not on our 14 team, we lose 5 games easy that yr

Jameis likes the throw the ball quick no matter what, and it causes his only mistakes sometimes too... he was doing it in the game two nights ago with a TON of slants against the Jags and then still tries to make some plays last too long that are dead with pressure in his face when he should just take a sack... Like the INT he threw in the endzone, that was just a dummy move by any QB much less a pro. He lit them up though, he'll have another big year, he's got a shit ton of targets now added, Howard being one of them...

Yea i saw that both yrs in tally. What forces his mistakes is also what makes him great

Michigan's defence had 7 NFL draft picks on it last year and that OL was enough for a FSU win.

I hope that defences isn't scary this year like the one giving up 60 yard chunks at a time in the orange bowl, while having a much worse defence.
