Agree it was an absolute longshot. I believe that it was a waste of time. But there's no chance that it was as dangerous as Nancy's trip.
And you're deflecting to Trump's meeting with Kim because you realize that it was worthless as well...meaning you damn well know Nancy's trip was too.
And no one will tell you that her trip wasn't dangerous. If something had only happened to her, the SOH, we would have been forced to respond. That would have lead us down a rabbit hole.
If China invades Taiwan, we cannot stop it. At best we can hurt them politically and maybe destroy their economy while perhaps destroying our own.
Once China believes that they can take Taiwan militarily and politically, mostly unscathed, they will. Nancy's visit did nothing to quell that fact.
