BTW...this is a VERY true statement. Perhaps the smartest thing you've ever uttered on this board.
However, while leadership doesn't guarantee success, it's supposed to be step in that direction. Part of the "process" towards success. Nancy's trip to Taiwan is none of those things.
Her staff took the bait, the Chinese double-dogged dared her, and she accomplished the task of accepting the dare. Was it brave? Sure...I'm sure all involved were scared shi1tless. If she wasn't, she should have been. I've been both brave and foolish before and I'm sure you have been too.
If you disagree, define here the value of her visit. Will China take a step back? Will this make Taiwan safer? Will this improve China-US relations? Or did the hole just get a little bit deeper?
