SEC National Titles the last 20 years...

The KING ( $ ) of sports with 90% of Power 5 schools is football, Then there are some who have Basketball as king and after that it’s a hodge podge with some regional sports like Ice Hockey etc. Georgia you just can’t win a National Title with one of the big sports but, that’s nothing to be ashamed of. I still think of watching us kick Ohio States ass for a NC. It is kinda cool to go and watch your school win NATIONAL TITLES in the two big sports not far apart. To bad you NEVER EVERRRRRR will have that Joy butt sniffers. Or lickers depending on your preference.

No, they don't. The rules at the time were that bowls were exhibitions. Should the Patriots miss the playoffs if they go 0-4 in the preseason? No, because exhibitions DO NOT COUNT.

Sorry, you fail.

Same thing happened to Bama in 1966, shit poster never once said Bama should claim the NC in 1966.

*Note: In 1938, there were four undefeated teams (TCU-#1, Tenn-#2, Duke-#3, & Oklahoma-#4). The vols could legitimately make a claim that year.

**Note: In 1967, Tennessee finished #2 to #1USC. However, the vols would lose the Orange Bowl while the trojans would win the Rose - USC would have a more legitimate claim to the 1967 title than the two loss vols. Did that USC team had Heisman winner O.J. Simpson?

Now for the Big Elephant in the SEC, lol,
Alabama: 0, 0, 12 (2017, 2015, 2012, 2011, 2009; 1992; 1979, 1978***, 1973**; 1965, 1964*, 1961)
(Note: AL claims 17 total NC's in football: 1925, 1926, 1930, 1934, 1940^)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alabama_Crimson_Tide#National_championships

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1940_NCAA_football_rankings
^Note: In 1940, Alabama (7-1) dropped out of the season ending AP poll - the tide's highest AP ranking was only 14. In the final 1940 poll, Tennessee (#4), Texas A&M (#6) & Miss St (#8) all finished higher than Alabama that year. In the final polls leading up to the last one in 1940, Texas A&M was #2 for about two weeks which make the Aggies 1939 NC claim a legitimate one!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1964_NCAA_University_Division_football_rankings
* Note: Alabama lost in the Orange Bowl after finishing the 1964 regular season as #1.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1973_NCAA_Division_I_football_rankings
** Note: AL was ranked only #4 in the AP (Ranked #1 in the Coaches Poll after the 1973 regular season);the Tide lost in the Sugar Bowl.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1978_NCAA_Division_I-A_football_rankings
*** Note: After the 1978 season, AL was #1 in AP while USC was #1 in Coaches; Oklahoma, Penn St & Alabama all had 11-1 records while USC had a 12-1 record that year. That year needed a 4-team play-off.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1979_NCAA_Division_I-A_football_rankings
**** Note: After the 1979 season, Alabama (12-0) finished with the most number of votes in both the AP & Coaches poll; the strong challenger that year was undefeated #2 USC (11-0-1).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Texas A&M: 0, Men's - 0; Women's - 1 (2011); 1 (1939)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_A&M_Aggies#NCAA_team_championships
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_A&M_Aggies#Other_national_team_championships

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_A&M_Aggies#Football
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1939_NCAA_football_rankings

Mississippi St: 0, 0, 0
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mississippi_State_Bulldogs#NCAA_national_championships

Mississippi: 0, 0, 3 (1959, 1960, 1962)
(Note: Ole Miss claims three NC's in football: 1959 (AP #2), 1960 (AP #2), 1962(AP #3)
I have linked the final AP poll for those years below, you can decide if Ole Miss has in fact three NC's in football - I think that I will allow it for now!
To be fair, this will make me re-assess Tennessee's claims of more NC's.

- Florida is the only SEC school to win at least one national title in all three major sports of Baseball, Basketball and Football.

- Arkansas, Georgia & LSU need to win at least one other NC to join Florida in completing the Big 3 trifecta of winning titles:
Arkansas needs a Baseball title and both Georgia/LSU needs to win a Basketball title in order to complete the Big 3 title trifecta!

- LSU & Florida are the only two schools to win multiple NC's in at least two of the three major sports.

- In the SEC, Kentucky and Alabama have won the most number of Basketball & Football titles, respectively, duh!

There should be a website daily updating how long Georgia had NOT won it all in college football! That would be gold if someone could link that site. Lol!

Shortly after 1980, nobody really cared.
However, right after 1990, when the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets had won it,.....

Craziest thing is Vandy has more national titles in the big 3 over the past decade than the vols and dawgs combined. And actually, it may be safe to say Vandy's had more overall athletic success than both during that time period.
