Roundball Tourney Thread

You retarded little worm. Ask any mod, the owner, no reporting from me. You peed in your bed, and you woke up wet. 😂

Final talley of Sweet 16 by conference:
SEC - 7 (yes, that is a record)
B10 - 4
B12 - 4
ACC - 1
By percentage, the SEC got 50% of their tournament teams to the Sweet 16. The Big 10, also, got 50% of their tournament teams to the Sweet 16. The ACC only got 25% of their teams that far. But the winner is the Big 12, who got 4 of their 7 tournament teams to the Sweet 16 - that's 57%. The SEC has more of the high seeds, for sure, but it will be interesting to see who actually makes it to the Final 4 and then the title game.

Here's the question I have? What happens to Florida if they play a game and get down 10,12,14 in the first half? We seem to swarm in the second half but just hover around in the first half. The teams are gonna get harder but we dont seem to get better in a complete game. Too many turnovers and stupid fouls. It could catch up somewhere down the road.

This team is an enigma, they played bad again and then scored 47 points in the 2nd half and won by 16 with seventeen turnovers.. We need a complete game, hell if we even get one close to it we could shatter someone fast.. We haven't played a good game yet in this tournament, that just shows you how good they really are.. We need the SEC Tournament form back now

Arkansas scares me. They have the size and the talent to complete with Florida. Injuries have hurt them this year, but they are at full strength now. Pulling for Texas Tech to pull it out the 2nd half.

Florida Basketball just made the Elite Eight…again…

Great comeback by Texas Tech to take out Arkansas in OT. I actually think this helps Florida because I think Arkansas' size would have given UF trouble. I think we beat TT fairly easily.
Arizona hung with Dkue, but the game was never in doubt, IMO. Duke's defense, size and depth will give Alabama trouble.

I thought going in TT might be our biggest threat in the region but wasn't really thinking about Arkansas having those players back. Hopefully Condon's ankle holds up for this game.

Can you believe how Calipari choked that game away. Up 13 with 4 minutes, Up 7 with 1:11, up 3 with 10 seconds and can’t get a stop. Go to OT and lose.

This has been the scenario of a Calipari team for years now. He did this at Kentucky and has now brought it to Arkansas. Now I can understand why Calipari's welcome in Lexington was over. Last nights game was a carbon copy of his coaching style at UK. Get a nice lead and go into grind gear. Grinding will get you beat against a good team.

How does a team like MD that hasn't lost by more than 6 points all season but loses by 16? Those insane turnovers are curable. As for the free throws, Condon and Chinlyeu have some work to do in the offseason.

I just feel like if something dont change and I know we are winning that we are gonna see the team that went to Knoxville and got blown out. How many times can we keep flipping a switch the last 10 minutes to dominate someone in the second half? Lets dominate from the start to end.

You may not be enjoying this run as much as I am, but that's your choice. We won't see this next season. I guess you enjoy dumping on this team as we haven't seen this kind of run since Donovan left.

We've seen enough nit picking around here all season. Todd Golden and the team acknowledged your concerns after the game.

In a nutshell, Quit yer bitchin! Lord knows our football program has enough of that. This season has been "Golden" no matter what happens from here on out.

OH I'm enjoying the run as much as anyone but this team as good as it is just makes me nervous sometimes in the first half. I was there to watch all those badass Donovan teams just as you were.

I just pray to God we don't let our Elite 8 demons show up again, we've blown so many double digit leads in this round I have PTSD just thinking about it.. especially the years we lost 3 in a row in this round right on the doorstep to all those Final Fours

If we could just finally put it all together and win in a blow out that would be preferable

Do it Gators.

The only reason he won it all in 2012 was his one and doners from the year before decided to return for fear of the NBA lockout. When that happened, his 2012 one and dones only made that team more dangerous. Other than that, it was Calipari blaming inexperience on his early exits from the tournament.

Although UF lost to Kentucky in the SECT in 2012 was the overload of talent vs our 2011 recruits along with freshman Bradley Beal, I believe that was one of Billy Donovan's greatest moments as a coach.

It took UF 4 seasons under Young, Yeguette, Prather and Wilbekin to get to the Final Four. Although we came up short of winning it all, this very class did no worse than the Elite Eight and I can say those were great runs.

After seeing Houston barely beat Purdue last night abd watching their style of play, I hate to say it but Tennessee will beat them badly. Would love to be wrong. Michigan State could be Auburn, but kind of doubt it. Duke/Alabama will be a really good game today and I'm not sure about the Gator game. If Condon is at full strength, I'll feel better about our chances. We MUST limit turnovers and keep our bigs out of foul trouble.

Need this Elite 8 win for Golden to cement his legacy early on. Perception wise making the Final Four is what does it. In basketball it's considered a very big deal. Curious to see if TN can make their first ever Final Four as that has weighed on their coach since he hasn't done it yet there.
