Rivals250 wide receiver Koby Howard is scheduled to announce his commitment on Sunday, August 4th. Howard will choose between the Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, Penn State Nittany Lions, and Ole Miss Rebels.
Koby Howard is a 6’1” 174-pound wide receiver out of Chaminade Madonna Preparatory in Hollywood, Florida. Howard is the 145th-ranked recruit and the 28th-ranked wide receiver in his class. He was also the 26th-ranked recruit out of the Sunshine State.
During the recruiting process, Howard received over 30 offers from some of the best football programs in the country. Howard holds offers from schools like Auburn, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Notre Dame, Penn State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and UCF.
The Rivals250 wide receiver has had a busy recruitment for the past couple of months taking official visits to multiple programs. He also has future official visits scheduled during the 2024 football season.
The Florida Gators was one of the final four schools in the mix to land Koby Howard. The in-state receiver has been recruited by Florida’s wide receiver coach, Billy Gonzales. The Gators also have two blue-chip wide receivers in their 2025 recruiting class and are looking to add at least one more to their class. Florida is expected to host Howard for an official visit in November.
The Florida State Seminoles are another in-state school in the mix to land the Broward County native. Wide receiver coach, Ron Dugans, is Howard’s primary recruiter for the Seminoles. Howard is also expected to take an official visit to FSU in October.
Penn State was one of two schools that already hosted Howard for an official visit. Howard took his Penn State official visit during the June 21st weekend. The Nittany Lions are considered one of the favorites to land Howard.
The Ole Miss Rebels were the first program to host Koby Howard for an official visit. Howard made his way to Oxford, Mississippi for his Ole Miss official visit during the June 14th weekend. Howard is considered a priority target for Lane Kiffin and his coaching staff.
With all that said, I think Koby Howard will end up committing to Penn State. The Gators already have two blue-chip wide receivers in Joshua Moore and Vernell Brown III. They are also one of the favorites to land Rivals100 WR Naeshaun Montgomery. Penn State has more of a need at wide receiver than Florida.
