Let's not forget that Tressel was fired because of TattooGate. He was let go to get the NCAA to back off before serious stuff started being unearthed. He got a show cause after being fired. So don't tell us he got fired because they had Meyer as an option. He got fired to keep tOSU from getting MAJOR sanctions. They got a year anyway, but it could have been as bad as Penn State if the rock had really gotten overturned.
Is anyone shocked that something positive happened and Michi is pissy about it?

Just curious, but why is it always 4 losses instead of being 10 wins and SECe championships? I understand your disdain for him, but you seem to be on a mission. He has two divisional championships in two years. Both SEC records/firsts. Beaten LSU, Iowa, UGA, Ole Miss, etc. Sure, he has not turned it around real quick and beaten the elite guys as of yet (Bama/FSU), but you are less than a half empty guy on here. He may not have a five star in this particular class, but there is plenty of blue chip talent in this class and another just did verbal to UF/Mac today. I would think most UF fans would want some stability for a while and see if this guy can continue to build upon what he has started.
unless some miracles happen next week, there's no way to see anything happening with this team from what's happened on the field, especially from offense, at the very least with what we have seen you at least need the coach to recruit well.. We are doing everything actually worse than the last coach we fired for all of it. That's not even opinion

Please stop posting as if your defense of Mac is for some altruistic reason. I've been posting on these boards for a while and don't remember you saying one good thing about Meyer. You have had tons of praise for Muschamp and now Mac though. Wonder why that is? Hmmmm. And if Jimbo was doing the same things Mac was you wouldn't be defending him either. Naturally you're more understanding of your rival coaches failures. Let's just call a spade a spade so you can stop pretending you're the voice of reason over here.
If recruiting doesn't have a huge turnaround quickly Mac's only chance is if Franks or Trask turn out to be elite at QB next season.
Brad Stewart is a nice pickup and has some good size for a DB. Mac still has a chance to pull a top 5 SEC Class if he can close good. Nick Smith is a 3 star but I could see him growing into a nice LB or even DE possibly. The kid appears to be a hard nosed player.
Because it is easier for you to say 10 wins and SECe than it is to look at the actual happenings.
Why can we not recruit any of the elite Florida kids?
Why have the offenses actually gotten worse under this "offensive genius" than they were under a guy who got fired for his inept offense?
Why is he about to land his third recruiting class outside the top 10?
Why is the QB guru still not able to recruit or develop a QB and continually scouring the landscape for the next grad transfer?
Why can he not head to heads beat Richt at freakin Miami for guys like Herbert and Henderson?
Why are we retaining an OC who has coordinated a decent offense since he was fired bu Saban?
Why can't we even compete with the likes of FSU, Bama and Michigan on the field?

Does he even know what's going on under his watch? This is not the way that the Retch has operated in the past, to my knowledge, so we shall see...
It was alleged that UF offered money to a Homestead HS player. The only problem with that is that UF has not recruited, or even offered anyone from Homestead HS in the last 3 years.
SEC Country learned Friday that verbal commitments for the Gators were contacted by Miami staff members, who asked the recruits if they would reconsider the Hurricanes because of the alleged NCAA violation at Homestead.
The one thing that remains the same, year in and year out, is that the scUM thugs and the criminoles will likely never change from what and who they really are, deep down....

As I've always said, when rival fans like your coach, you should fire them on the spot. FSU fans like Mac because we will never be remotely as talented as them with Mac at the helm. Pretty simple.

No one has ever said we don't have any talented kids in our classes, that is obviously not true. What is true is our classes as a whole are NOT where they need to be to field a championship. This will be the second consecutive class without a 5* recruit. In comparison, Meyer has four 5* kids enrolled early, including kids out of the state of FLORIDA

I don't have the time or desire to scroll back months, but when Blades signed you pretty much painted him as the next Deion Sanders. But again, you change your stance with whatever fits your nareative of Mac being a good recruiter and smarter than everyone else coaching in CFB
Yeah, we are trying to get a 3* OL from Miami since Richt beat us on Herbert. This on top of him flipping Gator lean Henderson. Something is wrong when kids are choosing the U over us suddenly.

Sorry, but even with the total cluster that the musclecramp left him, Mc is already the B-2-B SECe-Champ. He is also the 2016 Outback Bowl Champ.

What you think might matter on snore-rant, but not so much here.
And Mc has already far exceeded all expectation in his 1st 2 seasons, and he appears ready for another great season in 2017, while building UF back up 'the right way.'
IMO, no matter how much a few snivelers here continue to whine about things that are far secondary in his job performance, Mc ain't going nowhere any time soon.
I am not sure how much time you all spent on the FSU boards several years ago, but there were countless butthurt Seminole fans (including a couple mods) that wanted BB to stay longer (along with all the Miami and UF fans). Those same fans/mods also disliked Fisher quite a bit. In fact, they griped about him through 2012/'13, which was after three seasons, because he would lose games during the season, etc and not win every game. This was even after he won the ACC and was dominating our rivals. They could not see the forest through the trees. They could not see past the few losses at all. He was building a foundation that was severely cracked for nearly a decade. A disconnected head coach, horrible assistants, poor facilities, etc. The trajectory, though, was ignored. It was not until after the win against Auburn for the natty that many of those fans finally had their 'a ha' moment. Funny thing, there are still some who say they are not sold on him yet!!
Mac may or may not be the answer long term, but he seems to be ahead of the curve with being more balanced with his recruiting and he has two division titles to his credit. Granted, there isn't a Martez or CeeCee 5 star in this year's haul, but the balance over the past couple years is pretty good. Muschamp got a couple elite guys, but he forgot there were other positions on the team that needed at least some warm bodies. The balance was awful. The defense was certainly stout, but once a team hit double digits the game became a toss up.
Mac is trying to get the facilities upgraded and if anyone here understands, UF is sorely behind. Most elite athletes want to be 'wowed' some. UF's facilities are hardly that. The OL and Qb positions were a mess. His future hinges on the success of which one of the three young guys ends up being the starter this season. If it is LDR, then Mac is trying to get them one more year of seasoning, or at least the beginning of this year to get acclimated if LDR struggles against Michigan. Once the upgrades hit and the QBs and OL grow up a bit then I think we will all see how Mac is with all six bullets in the revolver. Just look at the better skill on offense, the deeper and more talented OL that has been assembled, the young defenders looked pretty good this past season when there were a slew of injuries, etc, etc.
I defended Fisher quite a bit over the past several years and still do so now with the few leftovers who still do not like him very much. I get you all want to be top 5 in recruiting every year, but Mac is not operating with a full magazine of ammo just yet.
im talking about talent and how their team looked, we have much different problems.. Fisher is not some great coach, iv'e always said that. He's an average game day coach at best with chokey tendencies. He's not that great especially with the talent at hand all the time and competition
This is contradictory. You say Fisher was rebuilding from a DECADE of irrelevance and yet even with that and facilities that were behind the curve he was still landing top classes right away without '6 bullets in the revolver.' How could that possibly be? When Mac took over UF was 3 seasons removed from an 11-2 season. Even Muschamp managed to pull a top 10 class after going 4-8 and that was in 2013. What, recruits didn't want to be wowed then? Our facilities didn't 'suck' then? Please.
And I'm not seeing these balanced classes you're seeing either. Despite only having 2 scholarship QB's on the roster when he took over we were unable to land any QB in his transition class not even a project. That same class we signed ONE LB despite having a glaring need among other things. You can say fine it's a transition class but then we go to his second class and don't sign a single DT. Not one. And with a glaring need at QB we take a guy early who couldn't even get reps on his HS team except part-time. Seems legit. So yea my point still stands you never defended Meyer and most of you Noles went on and on about how he wouldn't work out at UF because you feared him. You all loved Muschamp and now defend Mac though and you and I both know why.
We might end up with a respectable class about # 10 nationally in ranking and in the number of blue chippers which would be about 5th in the SEC if Mac can land a couple of these late deciders. It looks like we won't be able to get any higher than 10th in Rivals rankings even if Mac has a real good signing day.

In terms of the "quality" of recruits, only Georgia and Alabama really have a higher average grade than Florida's 3.53 (and that's higher than the Canes).
But...saying that, he does need to recruit studs at certain positions to be at the top of the chain...a great QB, a good RB, solid DT's, etc.
I think it is more the missing pieces that will affect the win count more than the "level" of recruiting.

Hopefully he gets our needs addressed some.
I don't even look at that average star stuff. Its better just to look at the total number of 4 and 5 stars committed to get a feel for that I think. We are about tied for 10th looking at it that way.
