QB's since Tebow

Was he recruited as a QB?

Yes. One of Urban's last awful choices for that position.

I se you have forgotten the 2010 season.

He saw Reed much in the same way as Josh Portis and Driskell.

Super athletes but not anything worthy of being a QB at that level.

Reed and Trey Burton were both HS QB's and both were given a look at QB, but TE was what they were suited for all along. The coaches knew it, and if they were honest about it, they also knew it. Both in the NFL now.

Recruit players like Jordan Reed and Trey Burton and worse case scenario is you have to move them...all while they succeed at another position.

Recruit players like Driskel, Brissett, and Luke Del Rio(transfer recruit) and they don't make QB's here and either transfer out or fail.

Driskel to LaTech for a 9-4 season , then on to the NFL. o_O

At UF with a fired HC and a different OC and WR's coach every year.
Before being benched the last time, in 5 games the receivers had 22 drops.
I guess he needed to throw a very high arcing ball, and then raced down the field to catch it himself....

Like I said, Driskel,Brissett, Murphy, and some others couldn't cut it here for some reason or another. Coaching, coordinator turn over, poor WR's, etc.

Jordan Reed and Trey Burton finished their careers as Gators and made impacts. Muschamp's lone magical year should give much credit to Jordan Reed. Burton made some big plays through out Muschamp's tenure.

This was more of an argument towards Danny.

He was discrediting Meyers recruiting abilities because Meyer recruited players such as Burton/Reed to be QB's.

My point is Ill take those top notch athletes that will move positions and suceed vs those that transfer.

No need for the Jeff Driskel defense team because I already agree with you. Driskel wasn't as bad as made out to be. Many factors played in.

I love how everyone jumps to driskel still being as bad as he was at UF against the worst defenses in football throwing nothing over 8 yards because he still couldn't complete a single ball down the field even against them and dropping it off to an AA RB out of the backfield every game they played. Then embarrassing himself and the morons that drafted him in the pre season of the NFL... He looked EXACTLY how he's looked his entire life in those games, I laughed out loud watching him in those games.

If Driskell "went to the NFL" then so did Leak.

Again, 2010, the real beginning of the offensive nightmare. You guys remember the QBs Meyer trotted out there, right?

Or did you block it out?

I still cant believe Cincy signed him after SF cut him. Made no sense at all as he looked terrible in the pre-season with SF and didnt know Cincy's system.

You remember which QB won the National Championship in 2010, right?

Not defending Meyer or Cam but 2010 could have been a much different year at Florida. One that included crystal trophies and maybe another statue in that Heisman flower bed outside the stadium.

Dear Kyle,

Unless you're only after a 'top quality UF degree,' it's probably time to consider a transfer to a school where you'd get a 'real' chance to play the game. If you just want a UF degree, and maybe a future in coaching, then stick it out. You won't have to take the SEC-D beating, but you'll still get all of the perks of being a Gator student/athlete. ;)

Nuss called you 'as good as any 5 star that I've scouted.' And then Mc, after watching you deliver at Friday night lights, offered you an 'early enrollee' ship. And then they let you rot on the bench while they diddled with 2 xfer, 2nd tier backup quality QB's.

And now, even after you've been at UF for a full year, they are again looking to bring in more xfer QB's to put in front of you on the depth chart. That's just total BS imoho. All of the 2016 recruiting hype aside, the fact that they played LDR and Happybe ahead of you, tells you all you need to know about where you really stand with them right now. You're even a step below Clarabel...

2017 QB Depth Chart
1) Any xfer QB that's willing to come here and be 'given' the job. o_O
2) LDR - because he's now got 3 years in the Nuss system...
3) Franks
4) Allen
5) Clarabel
6) Trask :(--- (the next Cam maybe, with none of the negatives?)
