Yeah I read USAID accounts for 40 percent of international “aid”globally, $50 billion a year about. Seems like most of that money, best case could be described as pro-state department propaganda, but actually probably most of it was spent on plane tickets and hotels for a bunch of worthless “research fellows” earning $300k at NGOs or think tanks to fly around to conferences and give workshops on why global democracy hinges on boys in high school being able to use female bathrooms and locker rooms. Now they’re protesting that the 10 percent or whatever that actually does go to fight hunger or disease, etc… is going to be held up by this audit.
If they had spent the money honestly, they might have a leg to stand on. But they didn’t and so they don’t.
