Good opening game win, but lots of room for improvement. The defensive front is improved, but pass coverage is still a major issue, IMO. Losing Jaydon Hill is huge as Helm had guys open on him all night. Rin game looked good, but it was only vs. FAU. QB play will be interesting to see how it plays out. I'm very concerned about the wide receivers and the inability to get open. The USF game is where we need to see major jumps in consistency and execution on both sides of the ball, because if it's not there Bama will embarrass us at home.
Everybody's favorite player is always the backup QB.
No question Richardson is an elite talent. Also no question Jones had a rough outing after a solid start.
However, there is more to picking a starting QB than seeing a guy leap over a defender. Would the playbook have to be scaled back with Richardson as the starter? Does he know the coverages? Can he help the Oline with their blocking calls? There is a lot more to this than a quarter of good play in a game already decided.
Having said that, if Jones continues to struggle and Richardson keeps lighting it up, eventually he will force his way into the starting role.
Eh...........Willie's simply lethal's game plan? Eesh. I'd be seriously concerned if this was more of a tussle than when he coached the SOW. Willie owns suckage, how he has anything more than a women's volleyball team at his command is just beyond words from me. (I'm not complaining, he set the SOW back at least a decade on the CF map) 🤣
I'm scared. Richardson should be taking first string snaps. I knew this was coming. And then there is 3rd and Grantham. I'm worried.
Fortunately we have a ROKU box and when the SECN said the Gator game was starting on the ESPN app, I just switched to ESPN through the ROKU box and pulled up the game that way. But I know a lot of people missed out on that first drive, which was run very well by Jones.
Dan better get Anthony ready for BAMA cause they are gonna run us off the field if we cant score with them.
I guess I need to hope I am wrong but if Jones plays like this against Bama we will take a beating. Richardson might not change that but I could see another 2019 KY type scenario playing out against an opponent like that.
I can imagine him saying it with the lisp he has. I never followed his NFL career but I do know he sucked with the Jaguars.
