Over 4 million illegals have crossed our border under joey’s watch

Is ICE doing NOTHING anymore to audit business employee records? INS used to do them, and levied heavy fines for non compliance. In fact, I know of one roofing contractor who spent prison time for this. I guess DHS has decided to completely ignore the law.

I don't know if they're doing business audits but I doubt it. If we arrest an illegal immigrant on our charges, they don't want them when we're done with them.

Under the previous administration they'd come get them. About half were allowed to bond out from the Montgomery, AL facility but were supposed to show up for a immigration hearing (lol). About half again from a facility in Louisiana. The remainder were actually deported.

Now none of them are detained by INS from the day Biden became POTUS. I have no idea what function they're allowed to serve today.

The vast majority of illegal immigrants that I come in contact with would have no way of paying taxes even if they wanted to.
I'm not talking about them. I'm talking about those with green cards. They pay taxes, can't vote. The idea that a naturalized citizen has to wait to vote is ridiculous. And most likely unconstitutional.

I don't necessarily think that it's a bad idea to have a waiting period.

Of course I'd also streamline the immigration process for desirable immigrants (no criminal record, skill and need, goes about immigrating legally) to begin with.

I'm all for tearing that stupid plaque off the statue of liberty but either you get to be a citizen or you don't. Half measures annoy me. How is this any better than easing the restrictions so they'll vote dem?

I'm pretty sure precedent was set awhile back.

Bingo. It should be insanely difficult to get into this country. One of the things that libs hated the most about Trump was when he pointed this out: He said we should ONLY be accepting the best of the best. Instead, libs throw open the borders to every shithole country in central and south america.

It's how you destroy a nation. Which is obviously what the dems want to do, making $$$ off it in the process.

I'm not for tearing the plaque off. I think we have a need for the workforce today.

I also think it's reasonable to give people time to acclimate and understand the political climate before allowing them to vote. More importantly, this disincentivizes politicians from opening the gate in order to obtain votes.

I don't think that a tiered path towards total citizenship is necessarily unconstitutional. Hell, it would be a lot better than what they get today imho.

I don't think it should be extremely difficult for the right candidates.

And in my view, who I think the right candidates are might surprise some people. We have crap loads of entry level, blue collar labor jobs that go unfilled. I don't think we need very many scientists, doctors or engineers...though we probably need some in the tech industry (chips).

I want the American dreamers coming here. The people who want to work and just have a desire to do that in a place WITHOUT anarchy.

14th amendment. Plus, politicians dont know how to act right so we change citizenship? Hell no.

I don't think that making this a tiered process violates the 14th. You aren't telling them that they can't vote. You are telling them that they can't vote yet.

How long is that process? That's an interesting conversation as well imo. 2 years? 4? 6? Is 8 too long? I'm honestly not sure on that.

But if the process is streamlined on the front side for the right candidates, they'd be voting just as soon as they would be in the current process if not sooner, right?

Because then cynical politicians do not let individuals in just to win elections. If I were to move to France, for example, or Japan, or Nigeria, my decision, I would not expect to be able to vote for at least 5-10 years.
Illegals and undocumented don’t vote.

Funny, my father in law, who only has a greencard, was automatically registered as a Democrat by the State/County after we took him to get a State ID card. That was 12+ years ago. The DMV office automatically sent his info to the County Election office. Prior to evey election, he gets his sample ballot in the mail. He is honest and never goes to vote, but he could if he wanted too. Of course, I live in a very Democrat state. BUT, I am sure in states like CA and NY wherein illegals are able to get driver's license they make sure they don't vote.

Maybe in local elections but I doubt they vote federally.

You’re trigetred. Stop eating doughnuts fat ass you’re not 12 anymore, although one wouldn’t know it from your posting.
What is the definition of this big word...I have never seen it used before. With such an entrepreneur....I am sure you know some words the rest of us have not learned yet.

Do not need to when you ballot harvest, and have all the dead people voting for your side
I am not in favor of mail in voting for the record. Too many potential opportunities to “cheat”. That goes for both parties. Go vote and show an id, if you can’t be bothered than stfu.

He can only vote legally in local and state elections, if statute allows. It is unlawful for green card holders to vote in federal elections, and registering to vote in a federal election or voting in a federal election is punishable by deportation.
