Outrage as Black teen shot after going to wrong address to pick up siblings

So you missed the part in the other thread where I said if you're dumb enough to call someone the N word in front of their crew, you're lucky if they don't kill you.

And I'll ask again...So no one should be surprised by the reaction of the black girl right?

It wasnt funny when those 5 white people assaulted that black dude in his own yard and then they arrested the black dude. I don't get credit for that I see.

This really isn't about you but if ignoring the majority of the blatant racist crap thrown out in this forum by malone, navi, ron, etc because every once in a while they object they miraculously get some sort of pass...

They don't. At least not from me.

And they sure as hell aren't above criticism...

GTFO out with this bullshit. White people at least have the sense to be embarrassed when white trash fight at walmart and other shenanigans.
So you're saying black people aren't embarrased?

Exactly how many black people have you asked?
Or is that you just making up something in your head to feel better about white people?

Ignorant shit is ignorant shit.

Yeah and its amazing that you believe...Black people in general feel different than white people about it

You see many white people in here posting white ignorance videos? Nope.
See many "Karen" videos attacking white culture for vreating people like that? Nope.

This place is a ****ing echo chamber...if all you have is posters who post black ignorant shit
What do you think is the result of that?

If you choose to arm your enemies I have no sympathy for you.

You don't have to sympathize for me...

The "enemies" character & values speak for themselves...

What's funny is I think they "arm" me.

Oh wait, you believe in systemic racism AND gun control. So I already didn't.

I believe in a clear reading of the 2nd ammendment and an the end of white preferential
treatment in institutional structures.

I'm responding to this and only this because it's the only thing that's important in your post.

If you believe that this country is built on the backs of slaves and the government is inherently racist and that racism is especially virulent in law enforcement and the justice system

and you also believe that those same racist and biased systems that treat you differently or worse based on the color of your skin

and you also trust these systems to control the only real defense against criminal elements and the corrupt government and police themselves,

What conclusion am I to draw but you're either ignorant of the origins of gun control or you actually believe a government that hates you gives a rats ass about your safety?

The Black Panthers got it. Malcom X got it and it got him killed.

So why don't you?

You know what I got? Know what the Black Panthers & Malcolm X got?
Those efforts failed at producing the desired result.

The Black Panthers were divided over this issue...some wanted more militancy others more reform
Guess which school of thought eventually lost and which one lives on today.

Malcolm X was a militant who wanted to move away from that idea when he was tragically killed.

If you think owning a gun is protecting you from government tyranny your lost
Go ask the militias that supported Jan 6....Go ask the Branch Dividians...Go ask the Klan

The had a whole lot of guns didn't they?
The government always has more

Black people learned that the militancy of the 60s & early 70s didn't work in the long run
Why didn't you learn that?

Changing the government membership is the long term solution

Which is why its so outrageous that the rejection of representative democracy by the GOP is growing

The GOP has unleashed a political response that attacks all 3 branches of government on both the federal & state level.

The government always has more guns so you should give up yours?

Right.

Let's ask the Viet Cong. Al Qaeda, the Taliban, and the Bundys how it worked for them.

Incidentally the Waco and Ruby Ridge incidents are why you shouldn't trust the government.

Oooh Look...another shooting of an innocent kid

Let's listen to warped logic of gun advocates try to make sense of this...

Maybe because you don't believe the proliferation of guns has anything to do with it?

Or are you admitting that there are a lot of irresponsible gun owners that can only be identified after they attempt to use lethal force...not before?

I guess the appropriate screening is waiting for them to kill somone?

No my response is that we should register all guns, train all gun holders, test gun ownership regularly

I'm not against the right of people to own guns...I just say it should be heavily regulated

This suddenly smells like a Jussie Smollett kinda deal.

New York woman fatally shot in wrong driveway: What we know about alleged shooter, victim

A man charged with second-degree murder for shooting a 20-year-old woman after the vehicle she was in took a wrong turn into an upstate New York driveway was known for his bitterness towards people driving onto his property by mistake, according to a neighbor.

Kaylin Gillis and her friends mistakenly drove onto the property of Kevin Monahan on Saturday night in the rural town of Hebron, when Monahan opened fire at their vehicles as they tried to turn around and killed Gillis, Washington County Sheriff Jeffrey Murphy said.

"While they were leaving the residence once they determined that they were at the wrong house, the subject came out on his porch for whatever reason and fired two shots, one of which struck the vehicle that Kaylin was in," Murphy said during a news conference Monday.

I don't even think it requires the 2nd amendment being revised

It does require the faulty reading of the 2nd amendment to be rectified

Gun advocates reject ANY regulations

I don't even think it requires the 2nd amendment being revised

The SCOTUS said CLEARLY that there should be regulations around it...
Gun advocates reject ANY regulations
What decision was that?

I reject any regulation of the entire bill of rights but I admit to being an extremist so you're talking to the wrong person anyways.

What decision was that?

Most decisions since Heller.
The SCOTUS decision from Heller is not even respected but Heller got the ball rolling

And then the gun lobby corruption kicked in to gear

https://giffords.org/lawcenter/gun-laws/second-amendment/the-supreme-court-the-second-amendment/#:~:text=The%20court%20ruled%20in%20Heller's,whatsoever%20and%20for%20whatever%20purpose.%E2%80%9D

In its decision, authored by Justice Antonin Scalia, the Supreme Court was careful to stress the limited nature of its ruling. Writing for the majority, Justice Scalia noted: “Like most rights, the right secured by the Second Amendment is not unlimited. [It is] not a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose.”

The Court provided examples of laws it considered “presumptively lawful,” including those which:
  • Prohibit firearm possession by dangerous people.
  • Forbid firearm possession in sensitive places such as schools and government buildings.
  • Impose conditions on the commercial sale of firearms.
The Heller decision was far from the blanket endorsement of unlimited gun rights that the gun lobby hoped it might be. Rather, the last decade of post-Heller litigation has demonstrated that the decision was a limited ruling fully compatible with the many lifesaving gun laws that protect us today.

I reject any regulation of the entire bill of rights but I admit to being an extremist so you're talking to the wrong person anyways.

Well then you would be shocked to know that the SCOTUS didn't agree with you about regulation
Nor did the actual text of the 2nd amendment

Notice the first 4 words?

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

U.S. Constitution - Second Amendment | Library of Congress

The right for a WELL REGULATED MILITIA to be armed

As of today there is only ONE legal militia in the United States of America...The Reserve

What is the United States militia today?

The National Guard is a militia force organized by each of the 50 states, the U.S.'s federal capital district, and three of the five populated U.S. territories. Established under Title 10 and Title 32 of the U.S. Code, the state National Guard serves as part of the first-line defense for the United States.

Militia (United States) - Wikipedia

Most militia organizations envisage themselves as legally legitimate organizations, despite the fact that all 50 states prohibit private paramilitary activity. Others subscribe to the "insurrection theory" which describes the right of the body politic to rebel against the established government in the face of tyranny. (In the 1951 case Dennis v. United States, the U.S. Supreme Court rejected the insurrection theory, stating that as long as the government provides for free elections and trials by jury, "political self-defense" cannot be undertaken.)[28]

(a)
The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.

(1)
the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and

This is also wrong.

"The right for a WELL REGULATED MILITIA to be armed."

For starters the bill of rights doesn't bestow rights it prevents the government from passing laws that restrict those rights.

What does militia mean in the 2nd Amendment?

At the time of the American Revolutionary War, militias were groups of able-bodied men who protected their towns, colonies, and eventually states. "[When the Constitution was drafted], the militia was a state-based institution," says Rakove. "States were responsible for organizing this."

Are private militias illegal in all 50 states?

McCord said that while all 50 states have some form of law prohibiting private militias, they're not always enforced or clearly written. “What's on the books right now in terms of state laws are state constitutional provisions and criminal laws,” McCord said.Mar 21, 2023

You need to differentiate between opinion and fact. Also, find out when the first standing Army was formed in this country and what we used until then.

Click the link and you can see ALL contitutional refernces to militias..

You will see militias prior to the 1st standing army were a state institution that became a federal organized institution in 1916.

https://law.justia.com/constitution/us/article-1/58-the-militia-clauses.html

Regulation of the Militia

The power of Congress over the militia “being unlimited
, except in the two particulars of officering and training them . . . it may be exercised to any extent that may be deemed necessary by Congress. . . .

The power of the state government to legislate on the same subjects, having existed prior to the formation of the Constitution, and not having been prohibited by that instrument, it remains with the States, subordinate nevertheless to the paramount law of the General Government. . . .”1789

Under the National Defense Act of 1916,1790 the militia, which had been an almost purely state institution, was brought under the control of the National Government. The term “militia of the United States” was defined to comprehend “all able-bodied male citizens of the United States and all other able-bodied males who have . . . declared their intention to become citizens of the United States,” between the ages of eighteen and forty-five.

The act reorganized the National Guard, determined its size in proportion to the population of the several States, required that all enlistments be for “three years in service and three years in reserve,” limited the appointment of officers to those who “shall have successfully passed such tests as to . . . physical, moral and professional fitness as the President shall prescribe,” and authorized the President in certain emergencies to “draft into the military service of the United States to serve therein for the period of the war unless sooner discharged, any or all members of the National Guard and National Guard Reserve,” who thereupon should “stand discharged from the militia.”1791

The militia clauses do not constrain Congress in raising and supporting a national army. The Court has approved the system of “dual enlistment,” under which persons enlisted in state militia (National Guard) units simultaneously enlist in the National Guard of the United States, and, when called to active duty in the federal service, are relieved of their status in the state militia.

They're quoting the same code...

Private militias are ILLEGAL in all 50 states
The only legal militia is the National Guard

The 2nd amendment is about militias

I didn't expect you to agree with me

And as I said...I don't want to ban all guns either but regulation is necessary when gun deaths become the #1 killer of children.

That's insane

Rights do have regulations...

'Stand your ground' laws empower armed citizens to defend property with violence – a simple mistake can get you shot, or killed
Caroline Light, Senior Lecturer on Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality, Harvard University
Fri, April 21, 2023 at 12:48 PM EDT·6 min read

In one key respect, Ralph Yarl was fortunate. The wounds the 16-year-old suffered after being shot twice on April 13, 2023, by the owner of the house whose doorbell he rang, thinking it was where he was due to pick up his two younger brothers, did not prove fatal.

Others who have made similar mistakes have died. Take Renisha McBride, who sought help after wrecking her car in a Detroit suburb in 2013, or Carson Senfield, who entered the wrong car in Tampa – thinking it was his Uber – on his 19th birthday. And then there is the case of 20-year-old Kaylin Gillis, a passenger in a car that turned around in a driveway in upstate New York on April 15, 2023. What these young people have in common is that they were killed in accidental encounters with armed property owners.

An analysis of stand your ground cases in Florida, carried out by gun violence prevention group Everytown for Gun Safety, addressed the way removal of the duty to retreat encourages violent escalation; researchers suggested that over half the cases could have been resolved without loss of life.

Further, recent scholarship shows how stand your ground laws intensify existing racial injustices in the U.S. criminal legal system. A study by the think tank Urban Institute found significant discrepancies in the rate at which homicides in stand your ground cases were deemed justified, depending on the race of the shooter and the race of the deceased. White shooters were significantly more likely to to be exonerated when their victim was Black, suggesting that – particularly in states with stand your ground laws – white people may feel more legally empowered to use lethal force and avoid prosecution, as long as their victims are Black.

As far as guns I don't see any way you could assure a hot head is restricted from having a gun. About the only thing you could do is have these laws they have now about mental issues etc not being allowed to purchase a gun or have them taken if the person is a threat but those laws get abused also. Also in the US unless the person is on the cops radar it is easy to have an illegal gun in your home. I bet the number of felons that at least have a gun illegally at their residence is a huge number.

We know what you crazed lefties want done about guns.

I do worry what is coming when technology advances more to give Govts the ability to not even worry about a possible uprising no matter what they are doing to the people.

Seems like your future worry is being addressed by technology right now

Still want to believe you can't keep guns out of the hands of the mentally ill or criminals?

Smart gun operating on facial recognition goes on sale in US
By Matt McKnight and Daniel Trotta

BROOMFIELD, Colorado (Reuters) -Colorado-based Biofire Tech is taking orders for a smart gun enabled by facial-recognition technology, the latest development in personalized weapons that can only be fired by verified users.

But in a sign of the long, challenging road that smart guns have faced, a prototype twice failed to fire when demonstrated for Reuters this week. Company founder and Chief Executive Kai Kloepfer said the software and electronics have been fully tested, and the failure was related to the mechanical gun which was made from pre-production and prototype parts.

At other times during the demonstration the weapon fired successfully and the facial-recognition technology appeared to function.

Biofire's gun can also be enabled by a fingerprint reader, one of several smart gun features designed to avoid accidental shootings by children, reduce suicides, protect police from gun grabs, or render lost and stolen guns useless.

The first consumer-ready versions of the 9mm handgun could be shipped to customers who pre-ordered as soon as the fourth quarter of this year, with the standard $1,499 model possibly available by the second quarter of 2024, Biofire said.

That could make it the first commercially available smart gun in the U.S. since the Armatix briefly went on sale in 2014. At least two other American companies, LodeStar Works and Free State Firearms, are also attempting to get a smart gun to market.

Oh wait, you believe in systemic racism AND gun control. So I already didn't.

So you arm old white racist men with loose gun ownership laws, pump fear into them in conservative news channels and then write laws that justify shooting people solely based on their fears

If you arm my enemies I have no sympathy for you...right?

Grandson Of White Homeowner Who Shot Black Teen For Ringing His Bell Says Relative Had 'Racist Tendencies And Beliefs'
Gina Salamone
Fri, April 21, 2023 at 5:07 PM EDT·5 min read

A grandson of the elderly white man who shot a Black teen for ringing his doorbell in Kansas City, Missouri, says he wasn't surprised by his relative's actions and that he believes his grandfather holds "racist tendencies."

Klint Ludwig, Lester's grandson, told CNN Thursday that when he heard about the shooting, he was not completely shocked by it.

“The warning signs were there," Ludwig said. "I wasn’t shocked when I heard the news. I believe he held — holds — racist tendencies and beliefs."

The grandson added that he decided to speak out because he was "disgusted" by the incident. "I thought it was terrible," he told CNN. "We — myself and my family — stand with Ralph Yarl in seeking justice. This is a horrible tragedy that never should have happened.”

He added that “people get away with killing unarmed, innocent Black people" too often in the U.S.

Ludwig also claimed that his grandfather believed some right-wing conspiracy theories, experienced “fear and paranoia” brought on by far-right media, and has made racist comments about Black people in the past.

No stupid, when your enemy gives up his shit, then you give up yours. It's a simple concept.

Example, we didn't give up our nukes til the ruskies gave up theirs.

When all law enforcement is required to switch to biofire and it works for 5 years I'll think about. For a smartgun to work correctly in case of error it has to default to safe. Hell no.
