I realize he has a long way to go but the women’s basketball team is greatly improved. Coach Newbauer has done a nice job.

Gator Gymnastice went Back-2-Back SEC Champs last night.
Bama gave them a run, but came up short at the end.
Grats Girls... :)

Flying high after an historic win at #1 Maryland last Saturday, the newly-ranked #4 Florida Lacrosse team got humbled today in Gainesville by #12 Loyola (Md) 17-6. The Gators fell behind early and could just never get in the flow of the game, trailing 10-4 at halftime. Loyola had more shots on goal than UF, 25-17, and their goalie had 11 saves to our 8. Draw control were in our slight favor 13-12, but Loyola took much better advantage of their opportunities and cruised to an easy win.

The Gators have a midweek game against Kennesaw State in Georgia and then host #5 Stony Brook next Saturday. Most game are televised via regular YouTube for those interested in watching.

Vs miami 2019-2020

Football: Florida 24-20
Soccer: Florida 3-0
Tennis: Florida 6-0, 6-3
Basketball: Florida 78-58
Baseball: Florida 2-0, 7-4

Does the men's swimming team have a shot at the natty? We were so dominant in the 80s.
Outside shot. They've been ranked anywhere from 7th to 11th nationally this year, Had a 7-2 dual meet record, finished 5th at a meet in Atlanta in November, 4th at a meet in Auburn in December. Texas, Cal, Michigan & Indiana are 1-4, but the guys seem to have peaked at the right time so you never know. The NCAA championship are March 25-28 in Indianapolis.

#2 UF gymnastics improved to 9-0 Friday night by beating Georgia in Athens 197.800 - 196.500, Gators were not at their best, but were still good enough to get a comfortable win over the Bulldogs. Trinity Thomas was fantastic again, winning the All-Around with scores of 9.950, 9.975, 9.950 & 9.950. UF's next match is next Saturday at Penn State.

#8 UF's lacrosse team had a big, come from behind 12-10 win over #3 Stony Brook Saturday in Gainesville. The Gators fell behind 5-1 early, tied it 5-5 at halftime and eventually pulled out the win. Florida's next game is Tuesday in New Hampshire vs. #15 Dartmouth.

Coming their big win over #3 Stony Brook on Saturday, #5 Gator lacrosse lost today at #13 Dartmouth 13-9, dropping their record to 4-2. They next host High Point Saturday, followed by a home game against #17 Navy next Tuesday. This has been an up and down season so far for the Gators, as they have played a rough schedule, knocking off the #1 & #3 teams in the nation and then followed those wins up by losing to lower ranked teams. They are fun to watch.

#2 UF gymnastic routed #25 Penn State in State College, PA Saturday 198.10 - 196.225, running their record to 10-0. Trinity Thomas scored a perfect 10 on her floor exercise, while Rachel Gowey earned another 10.0 on the beam. Thomas won her 7th straight and 8th all-around title of the year with a score of 39.525.

The women's lacrosse team improved to 5-2 with a 17-10 win over always tough High Point.

The #6 Men's Tennis team, 15-2, won their last 3 matches, 2 on March 1, the 3rd on March 6th, by perfect 7-0 scores over Auburn, Mercer and LSU. They take on Texas A&M Sunday.

Florida's Men's Tennis team, pre-season #1, lost a tough match at Texas A&M Sunday afternoon 4-3, dropping the 6th ranked Gators to 15-3 on the year. UF won the doubles point, but their #1 & #2 players lost their singles matches, as did their #6, while Florida's #3 & #5 won. The last match going that would decide the contest was between the #4's, Andy Andrade for UF & Noah Schachter for TAM. Both sets went to a tiebreaker, with Schachter winning both, 7-6, 7-6, giving the Aggies the 4-3 win.

Scott Stricklin is the Athletic Director of the Florida Gators who have the No. 1 Baseball program in America, a Top 10 Softball program, a No. 2 Gymnastics program, a Men’s Basketball squad that was likely headed to the NCAA Tournament, a Women’s Team that was likely going to compete in post season for the first time in a bit, and Track teams that were competing on the national stage this week to try and bring home titles. There is a lot at stake in the spring for Florida and a group of teams that fans, coaches, and administration are really proud of. It’s not easy taking the hearts of their seasons away from them. But in the big picture, it had to be done.
=====

Some schools are 'football' schools, and some are 'basketball' schools, and some are'baseball' schools. While UF is one of the elite few that has won NC's in all 3 of the Men's Big 3 sports, they are far more than any of those 3.

The U-of-F is truly an All Sports Athletic Program that is the the most consistent Top 10 finisher in the Nation for 36 consecutive years.... That included the last 11 consecutive Top 5 finishes as of June 2019.

This is the 11th consecutive season with a Gator team winning a National team title. Florida is one of just 3 programs with a National title each year since the 2008-09 season and UF has collected 20 National Championships in that span.

Since the end of the 2017-18 season, UF continues to lead the SEC in All Time SEC-C's with 240. More have been added since...

Football will always be big, but I've been a 'Gator All Sports fan' for a very long time. I've never felt the need to limit myself to just enjoying one Gator sport or team. Football is 4 months, but being a Gator sports fan goes year round... iG

All well said and I totally agree. I'm still kind of in a daze without Gator sports to watch on an almost daily basis this time of year. It's kind of like Bizarro World hell, but this great country will get through it and thrive, like it always has.

The truth is, while we spend 99% of our time focused on football, Florida is a school focused on all sports. There's a good reason why UF has more SEC championships across all sports than the #2 and #3 SEC teams COMBINED!!!! Not to mention if you throw in the fact that we are NOT a founding member of the SEC so haven't had as many years as the old guys to accumulate those championships.

We are a founding member of the SEC.

The timeline is like this:

We were not a founding member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association, which began in 1894. We joined in 1912.

We were not a founding member of the Southern Conference. In 1921 14 teams left the SIAA and formed the Southern conference. We were not one of them, we moved over the following year.

In 1933, 13 teams left the Southern conference and created the SEC. Florida was one of these.

I'm really digging the baseball team. They just took the series against Marshall. People may not think too much on that, but look at how they're winning recently. Last year, it felt like any team in the country had the likely possibility of knocking around UF pitchers for 8 or more runs....even teams like Marshall.

The pitching has been on point thus far.

Fyi, they did well against UGA also.

To think how close we were to an undefeated season.

With no more college baseball to cover, Perfect Game and other media outlets have started to publish MLB mock drafts and dish out their top draft prospects.

On Monday morning, Perfect Game released their Top 400 prospects for the 2020 MLB Draft. 11 Florida Gators players or signees made the list, including 4 in the Top 100.

Here are the UF players that cracked the list, along with their 2020 season statistics:

https://florida.rivals.com/news/11-gators-in-perfect-game-s-top-400-draft-prospects-list

On the baseball team, we have Grad transfer Tyler Van Der Weide, who hadn't pitched yet but was near making his debut as a potential stud closer, and seniors Kirby McMullen, Austin Langworthy and Nick Blasucci. It will be interesting to see any of them come back for their now-allowed extra year. Also, we have juniors Tommy Mace, Jack Leftwich, Brady Smith, Cal Greenfield, Jordan Butler, Brock Edge and Justin Alintoff, who could leave for the MLB draft or come back for their senior seasons. The rest of the roster is made up of freshmen & sophomores, plus an incoming class that has a lot of talent. https://chomptalk.com/2019/11/18/bsb-meet-the-florida-gators-2020-recruiting-class/

Baseball is pretty much go when you can get hired/drafted. after your 3rd season.
Sr's don't usually come back unless they are trying to improve their draft status.
Baseball ships are limited, so it's mostly go when you can....o_O

Personally, I wish that MLB would stop drafting immature kids out of HS.
Just like I'd like to see every kid that accepts a ship stay and work for their degree.
Hopes and wishes....

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – 14 University of Florida men's swimmers claimed College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) All-American accolades as the association announced the honors on Wednesday morning.

Due to the cancellation of the 2020 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, the CSCAA decided to change its criteria for the award, as "all relays achieving 'A" standards, individuals selected to the NCAA Championships, and divers entered in uncontested events from the Zone C Diving Qualification meet" were named Division I All-Americans for the 2019-20 season. Since 1985, the top-eight finishers at the NCAA Championships earned first-team distinctions, while consolation finishers received honorable mention recognition.

Florida's 14 swimmers, which tied for the fifth-most in the nation and the most in the SEC, reeled in 38 total honors.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — With the weekend approaching Friday afternoon, Kevin O'Sullivan was like just about everybody else. In a perfect world — which this definitely is not, right now — O'Sullivan and his Florida baseball team, ranked No. 1 in the nation when college sports shut down last month, would have been stretching and warming up for the first game of a weekend series at Arkansas.
