Ohio State looking pretty good so far. Maybe they are the team that can knock off the leghumpers in the playoff...

I know what you are saying but I think they might be better set up to do it than Bama. It seems when motivated they can dominate and Bama isn't nearly what they were last season.

fine but I've watched Auburn and Florida hold Georgia's offense until the inherent flaws in both teams derailed them.

I don't think that's going to happen to Alabama.

Though interestingly enough, Bama had to beat Arkansas today to lockup the West.

Not that I expect anything bizarre to happen, but it's always possible.

Saban doesn't really fire assistants. Still, I suspect DC Pete Golding will soon announce new employment.

If that happens I would loooooooove to see Saban get either Pruitt or Muschamp back at DC.

What I found amazing about Saban is his ability to build a staff from scratch.
When he was headed to LSU from Michigan State, not one assistant followed him to LSU, at least that's what I heard from Pete Prisco on the radio back in early 2007 after he left the Dolphins.

I usually try not to blame the refs, but the FSU/BC game has had some of the worst officiating I have ever seen. The score does not reflect how dominant FSU has been for most of the game.

Saban always tries to hire position coaches who he thinks can eventually be elevated into coordinator roles. That helps extend their time on the staff and the continuity. Doesn't always work, but it helps. He does the same thing with his analyst hires in off-field positions. He goes after guys that he thinks can eventually be promoted to the staff.

You may be right about Michigan State. I know Bobby Williams stayed behind to take the job when Saban left. He later rejoined Saban at Bama for a few years.

Crap BC just blew it against FSU...

I know I’m biased, but that game wasn’t as close as the score suggests. Even by ACC standards, the officiating was outrageous. If SEC refs were officiating, FSU would have won by three TDs.

Mike Norvell deserves credit for remaining as calm as he did (most of the time) considering that the refs were about to put him back on the hotseat. Jimbo’s head would have exploded if this happened to him. Muschamp would have had to have been held back by the coach wranglers to keep him from storming the field and going Incredible Hulk on the refs.

Jordan Travis is underrated as a QB. He doesn’t have the elite receivers that Winston had, but he is looking impressive.

It’s unfortunate that this happened a week before they play in the Swamp. The ACC refs clearly had them rattled and jumping at shadows. They are going to have to shake that off and remember that SEC refs still allow real football to be played.

What were the refs pulling exactly.

It wouldn’t have been as frustrating if not for the fact that FSU was playing the best they have in years. It was like 2012-2016 until the refs got them rattled.

It like watching a fledgling bird finally take flight after falling to the ground the first ten tries, only to get snatched by a hawk in midair.

What I would give to have what Clemson considers a disappointing season at 9-3. They will do something Mullen failed to do, beat the Cocks next week.
