Football Florida - Georgia game...

Just before halftime, Herbstreit is calling for illegal formation. How do you get a job like he has and not know the rules? And he played QB. First time he said illegal formation I am screaming what a moron he is. Minimum of 7 on the LOS but you can have 10. Whether you have 7 or 10, it means the same thing. The only eligible receivers is the player lined up on the far outside on each side of the ball and no one else. For any others to be eligible, you cannot be covered up, hence why on all other plays teams only line up with 7 on the LOS.

Well he's a dumbeff just like the Kamel Toe,

Fair catch the ball and you get it at the 25!!
The Gator D ends need to stop taking the easy path and just running up field past the QB.

Proud of the effort by the guys tonight. If Lagway hadn't gotten hurt, I think our chances of winning were pretty good. And then when our 2 starting CB's went out, that made the prospects even tougher. That bad field goal snap from reliable Rocco Underwoood started the unraveling. Carson Beck has regressed from last year, although he had better players around him in 2023. Still, Georgia is really good and the Gators battled then evenly until the last 6-7 minutes of the game. All of the injuries, especially to Lagway if he's out for a couple of weeks, will give our AD an excuse not to make a coaching change, IMO. Although I still I think we need to look for a new head coach, I do give Napier credit for keeping these guys together and playing hard.

I liked everything you said until the last sentence. The players love Ron Zook too in spite of that obvious handicap. Slingblade is over his head. No way you don't have several QBs in your stable. A backup from Yale playing in the SEC? Seriously? He's no sleeper like a Flutie was at BC. Add this to the list of incompetency. Napier will make a great assistant coach somewhere, but the stage is too big for him here.

sadgator has to admit…he was WAY WAY off on the score. Florida came to play. It was the most flat sadgator has seen a Kirby coached team.

Big props to the Defense. They could have quit when Lagway went down and they just kept fighting and getting the ball back for what was left of an offense.

Odd game. Feel bad for Lagway and the team. They could have won, which would have been amazing.

That said, sadgator is sick of losing…and making excuses for losing…

We were unprepared to absorb the loss of Lagway…perhaps it is unfair to ask the question, but whose fault is that?

People wanting to keep Napier is mind blowing.. especially since you saw the one reason anyone wanted him to stay go down.. Same issues, same problems on special teams and all equals same result = losing..

The fact that everyone gives credit for the players trying hard shows how far not only Florida has fallen but society in general. You only get to play 12 days a year much less the limited amount of times in your life in football.. Moral victories are for losers, Billy is a loser period.

Any good coach would know UGA had two safeties out the first half and abused that, we took one shot and guess what happened? Then never again, I'm sick of the excuses. How many times you think Spurrier or Kiffin type coaches abuse their secondary knowing well in advance to prep to do so? Kiffin has a massive opportunity to beat this team next week, and in all honesty they should. Georgia is not a good team at all

Thank you.

I remember leaving the LSU game in 2010 after a last minute loss and fans were ready to dump Urban because he had losses to LSU and Bama. This after two NCs and a 13-1 season. Now 4-8, three years of a Tecmo Bowl playbook with no OC, three losing seasons, three years of the nations worst special teams, 2 wins over teams .500+ in 3 years, and fans are justifying keeping this clown. Its honestly sad more than anythjng

Gators were the better team tonight, but the better team doesn't always win. Tough break with the injury. If not for that this game is most likely not even close. Dawgs had their fluke little run by paying players, and now it's over. Great effort by the Gators.

Why do we only have 2 scholarship QBs???

I'm sure there are some people who want to keep Coach Napier, but I don't think any of them post on this message board. At least not lately. Our program has been going downhill since Urban Meyer's last year and it should never gotten this bad. However, before "they" fire the 4th coach since Meyer left, they better have someone much better lined up to take his place. I know I have zero input on coaching decisions, but it is frustrating as an alumni and 72 year old fan to see how low we've sunk as a program. It did surprise me how we outplayed Georgia for most of the game and if not for Lagway's injury I think we might have won. But being happy for hanging in there with a Top 5 team is not acceptable. There's no such thing as a good loss in sports. There's a winner and a loser and we're the loser more often than not and have been during Napier's 3-year tenure.

No matter whether how much people like it or not, the best option and fit for Florida to rise again plays against Georgia in Oxford next week...

Curious what happens that game. This GA offense isn't that good. It will depend on how good that Georgia defense plays.

Orange and BLUE BALLS.

I actually thought we had a chance.

What was up with the turf or our cleats? The secondary was slipping all over the place. On some key 3rd downs we slipped and fell when we had good coverage.i
The field was garbage. It looked as if it had not been watered since the last time it rained (which was probably Hurricane Helene. You could see puffs of dust cloud up every time a player made a cut. How is that acceptable for a NFL field? I know both teams had to play on it but damn. Baugh slipped numerous times on cuts on his carries.

Why weren't the puppy players slipping? We had running backs and secondary folks slipping all night. Didn't see it once with Ga?

Good article from USA. I love the "coaching Malpractice" line. Gators averaging 5 yards per carry and yet we put the game in the hands of a walk on qb.

What infuriates me is this is the type of thing you pay the “army” to be on top of. We agreed to get this guy an unreal number of assistants and analysts and I have never seen a coach that has LESS attention to detail in his product. Our special teams, substitution penalties, we make more mistakes than any team I have ever seen.

Yep. Blaming field conditions? How about we get the kids in the correct cleats.

And didn’t Urban Meyer win a National Title with a third string quarterback on the OSU roster?

Apparently, if your coaching staff identifies and develops good talent, you don’t need to make excuses or accept losing.

Again, we have the “army” and after three years that is the best third string QB they can come up with?

It’s bad enough Billy is robbing us to run his Tecmo Bowl offense, but we are paying out a ton a cash for a bunch of assistants and analysts, for what? Every single aspect of this program is below SEC standards. I mean we a sub-Vandy in most areas.

When did this become acceptable?
