I think it depends on where you live, what network choices you make, etc. Medicare advantage plans can be decent networks. The "give back" program to SS (100 bucks a month less than standard) offers shit tiered coverage, Caribbean trained doctors, crappy hospitals. (typical United Healthcare network) You get what you pay for.
No, I try to stay away from the VA. Only time I have been there was to get my vaccine...so I could travel on a bucket list vacay that was planned for years. They were pretty darn good, but living in a VERY large military community, I hear the stories
