Wonder how far Utah will fall in CFP polls & how that will impact Bowl bid for Gators ?

When the 13 members of the College Football Playoff selection committee gathered on Monday to determine their fifth ranking of the season, their longest debate centered around No. 5 Utah and No. 6 Oklahoma.

There are seven undefeated or one-loss Power 5 teams remaining in the FBS, and all seven will be playing for conference titles this weekend. The Pac-12 and Big 12 conference championship games will steer what should be their most difficult discussion this season: Who's No. 4? That's assuming, of course, that No. 2 LSU beats No. 4 Georgia in the SEC championship game and opens the last semifinal spot.

For the first and only time this season, the committee members will watch games together in their conference room at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas, starting on Friday night. Following the conclusion of the Big Ten championship game on Saturday, they will take their seats around the massive table in the adjoining room they call "Selection Central" and begin their deliberations with the games fresh in their minds.

...bet that’s a fun room...talk about sucking all the joy out of CFB

Sad,

Agree

Think how painful it must be to get paid to hang out in a swank hotel with an open bar & good eats & watch football.

It's a tough job but someone has to do it; think of all the work those 13 members go through in order to bring all of us - the CFP !

Utah losing probably doesn't impact Gators much as PAC 12 teams not headed east to Sugar, Orange, or Cotton bowls. About all it does is lift Gators & PSU up a notch in CFP rankings.

SEC & Big 10 must important games for us.

Looking forward to today !

My thought as well - except that if UGA vs. LSU is super tight and UGA wins...that coupled with a Utah loss may keep 2 SEC teams in the playoffs, which would affect which bowl we go to. Long shot though.

Georgia and LSU will be in with a Georgia win. The Big 12 winner (even Baylor) is in if Georgia loses no matter what that nutty ESPN playoff predictor says.

I would take the Big 12 winner regardless if LSU lost but the committee will say their wins overcome not winning the conference.
