And you have a GUARANTEED losing season.

Clemson will own you, and even if you play in the Toilet Bowl you will finish with a losing record.

Mike Norvell may finish with a worse record than Willie in year 1.

Three CONSECUTIVE losing seasons? Say it ain’t so......

I didn’t watch the game but obviously they are horrendous. So bad that I’m not sure Norvell can get them out of this hole. To be honest we aren’t even sure if Norvell is a good coach. They are worse than last year and I didn’t think that was possible

I think I said it here but we did not hire an established program builder. That’s where we need to look.

Have to watch where their recruiting ends up. Truth is Navy use to be really good - Oklahoma took like 20 years off being terrible after Switzer.

Truth is staying relevant isn't guaranteed and this could be along cold run for the nolies.

Yes I know you did. And that could be the problem. With that being said how many program builder coaches are out there that are readily available? But I agree that is where you need to look. Stricklin was able to do that with the hiring of Mullen.

Even if you go to the lower level G5 teams, find the guy that built that G5 team to a high status. I think we found a good offensive mind but he maintained a good/great status quo of a program he did not build as the head coach. This is a tough place to learn how to build. Time will tell but our scope needs to change.

Yes agreed. Heck even the guy that built Memphis (Fuente) is struggling at VT. You just never know! Somebody though is going to take another chance on the cheater Hugh Freeze.

Oh you think this is about losses? We are trying to keep the game within 30 points. If we do that, chalk it up as a win

We were up 14 to 3, scored a defensive td to put us up 21 to 3, it got called back (total bs pitt must have paid off the refs) then on the next drive our WR runs the wrong route so we throw a pick..... Then go up by a td. Jordan travis gets hurt and then they route us.

So if they had the money, Hughe Freeze would be a great hire.

But they don't, not right now.

I'm afraid he's going to end up at South Carolina or Tennessee.

Fun fact we were in talks with hugh freeze before we hired briles. Freeze wanted to come to fsu but fsu was trying to put in his contract that he couldnt leave for HC job after 1 yr, they wanted a 2 yr committment.

Don’t look now but I think Whistlin Willie is 3-1 at FAU.
With the late John Reave's ex-son-in-law's recruits...

With the departure yesterday of more bad blood FSU is now made up of almost 75% R-Freshmen, true freshmen, and sophomores. Youngest team in the country.
Norvell has had it with kids who run their mouths on social media, walk around wearing their four stars on their sleeves, and have team meetings to bitch about practicing during a bye week.
So are the fans.
Long road back.

You should be excited. If he does go to one of those, look for recruiting sanctions to follow for one of your SEC East opponents.
(Who am I kidding...NCAA doesn't do squat to anyone anymore.)

Good of you to keep the faith. NorveLLLLL still has not given one indication that he is capable of turning the program around, but has had several indications that he isn’t. I’m sure hoping for the latter.

The issue is early on in the season he backed down to those same very players in Terry and Wilson. Norvell didn’t set the tone right out of the gate. Now he is in damage control mode in what has turned out to be an even bigger disastrous of a season that any FSU fan or even Norvell thought. Nobody thought FSU would be sitting at 2-5 with bad losses to GT, Miami, Lville & Pitt. GT, Lville and Pitt are terrible teams as well. He’s never had to build a program before and right now it is obviously something he is struggling with.

This sint a quick fix... Urban meyers ceiling with us this yr was 3 or r wins. Its a complete overhaul. No short cuts. I want 0 and 11 next yr just to hit rock bottom.....

Disagree a bit. An Urban Meyer, Saban, Dabo or even a Mullen would have beat GT, Lville and Pitt. No excuses to drop games like that and not just lose but get beat bad against Lville and Pitt is mind blowing IMO. Heck even Sam Pittman as a first time head coach at Arky has made a huge change at that program. Norvell may be a good coach. He may even end up being able to rebuild the program but right now he’s done a pretty poor job so far. I do agree FSU isn’t a quick fix but FSU is playing below expectations/talent level.

It was another thread but I suggested that Norvel needed to run the program like a pirate caption - anyone not steping in line 100% should exit stage left. He has to establish dominance within the program and get out anyone that's not inline with his vision.

Let’s not forget that their wins are very unimpressive. They were behind to Jacksonville st, and unc dropped a bunch of passes and missed a fg after spotting them a huge lead and dominating the second half. Even that fluke win could not have felt at all comforting to the slightly less stupid nole fans (they’re all stupid though. All of them. It’s just to what degree) They shouldn’t be surprised that a bunch of them quit. Cowardice is the way of the nole. If you can’t win by cheating or just by playing a bunch of cupcakes, then you just quit and usually try to injure the other team’s best players. I’d be nervous if I were any of their remaining opponents. Not that they might lose, but that noles take pride in playing dirty and will try and hurt their players. This, however, is as close as we’ve ever gotten to what they deserve. They should not be able to pull together a roster from recruits and should have to just pull random stands out of the fans, or get guys off the street. This is what they deserve though, so eff them. I hope next year is worse and any player with a start rating at all leaves.

I love this line so much it hurts.

"The Way of the Nole".

What is the Way of the Nole?

Cowardice is the Way of the Nole (yours)
Dirty play is the Way of the Nole (yours)
Playing Cupcakes is the Way of the Nole (yours)
Buying players is the Way of the Nole
Ugly uniforms is the Way of the Nole
...etc...

If could be an entire philosophy.

This is fake news... Jacksonville st is a top 5 team in the SEC and UNC was a top 5 team in the nation until we broke them

Maybe my favorite post of all time! And one who truly understands the way of the nole!
