Paper champs. Richt recruiting very well in the beginning, and really started to slump off his final few years. Again, hope you start winning titles, if not kirby is just Richt 2.0
Mullen was MSU's greatest coach. What does it matter? Jackie was 75-75. Mullen took them to more bowl games, had a much better winning percentage and was 5-2 in bowls I believe. So do you agree he is the greatest coach in msu history?

Because a career is not just based on one H2H result with one of those H2H's being the coaches first year at a program and the other H2H being at a historical inferior school.
Mullen finished ranked higher than Smart. Smart took over a program that had a built up roster that had recruits plus had 3 cycles to get his recruits in place. Mullen had one cycle to get recruits. Mullen took over a roster of recruits that ranked in the high teens and players that didn't fit his system. Smart took over a 10 win program. Mullen took over a 4 win program.
No other rival fans are here trying day and night to convince us otherwise that Mullen sucks....other than the OHS douchebag who got his feelings hurt that one or two random posters said something bad about Bruce Pearl.
Richt recruited well for the same reasons Kirby is recruiting well. Richt sold in-state recruits on Georgia being the new Florida State when he came there in 2001. It worked great for a few years, and they had a nice run the first few years. Then recruits realized Richt wasn't going to give them the NCs they thought, and those in-state kids started going elsewhere.
Kirby is doing the same thing now. He's selling recruits on Georgia being the new Alabama. It's worked great so far but he's about one more season away from needing to produce something, or those top 5 or so in-state national recruits that have been signing with Kirby the last 2 classes, will start going back to schools like Bama and Clemson.
If Kirby doesn't win the East this year, the recruits will begin to bolt.

The honest truth is. we have no idea if Mullen is a better coach than Kirby, but conversely, you don’t know if Kirby is better than Mullen. Kirby is 1-0 against Mullen in the current team head to head, so congrats on that.
All sadgator knows is that Mullen improved our team’s performance by leaps and bounds last year. He’s also been at least partially responsible for two National Titles while standing on our team’s sideline. That’s good enough for sadgator to honestly confirm to you that he wouldn’t trade our guy for yours. And sadgator knows you wouldn’t trade yours.
It probably makes for boring message board conversation, but the vast majority of us just don’t really think that much about you guys...
Mullen finished 3rd in the east and lost to Georgia by 20. Nothing about UF finishing above us makes any sense. All of our losses were to top 10 teams. How about you?
It makes perfect sense. Georgia lost its last 2 games, Florida won its last 4 games.
What doesn't make any sense is Georgia finishing ahead of a Texas team that beat the hell out of Georgia in its bowl game.

I think we go 11-1 or 12-0 this season and win the sec. If we lose 3 games with this team it will be because Fromm went down with an injury.
