National Championship Discussion Thread

Why would Florida fans hate Clemson and the ACC? Honest question. I don't even hate Clemson and we play them every year.
I don't "hate" Clemson. It's the ACC douche-bags from F$U that will come in here saying how great the ACC is over all the other conferences.

Wait. What!?

Who in their right mind says the ACC is better than ANY conference in football? We're trending upward, but it's a LONG climb.

Yeah, I asked the question and your answer was "bless your little heart". Is that adding to the discussion or just trolling?
I surmised that your "question" was, in all probability, just a poorly disguised troll.

Your posts since then have all but confirmed it.

Now, let me ask you again, do you wish to discuss the matter at hand? If not, please confine yourself to your circle jerk companions on your own board.

TIA

No but maybe the "hurr durr duh acc is worse than the pioneer league" crap will have to be shut down for a while.

Thing is, it's not a long climb on the field. Just look at the NFL draft most years. Coaching is a big factor and so is commitment from the admins of some of the schools.

The NFL draft is but one data point. The NFL roster is much more relevant.

But the most relevant data points of all are the ones treasured by college football fans. Championships and head to head results.

Knew Clemson would roll Oklahoma. They won't roll 'Bama. Gonna be a good game.

Well, I guess your idea of trolling is different than mine. However, one thing I do know is that Gators have always denigrated FSU's NCs by saying we play in weak conference so when I see some Gators rooting for Clemson to win, and Clemson also plays in the same league as FSU, I asked if Gators will denigrate Clemson's title as well if they beat Bama.

Hey, come back over to our board and we can speak a bit less restricted than over here. I welcome it.

What? Why are you so butt hurt? No one has written those things around here. And if they have, it has been some long time. Besides, why to you care about the opinions from Gator fans? Or is this just another example of little brother syndrome?

The retard level over there is so bad, it makes my eyes bleed.

BTW, I will ask you again, do yo wish to add to the discussion about this game?

Put me down as either Clemson or Bama win. No middle ground with me.

What i said are two extremes. If bama wins I expect them to do it like they usually do, when they are in close games they usually lose these.

Because their offense is not designed to score 'on command'. They are most effective with a lead, never have played well from behind

ROFL. You guys were writing that stuff just two years ago when we won our latest NC. I don't really care about Gators opinions but I like to point out their inconsistencies for fun. Still haven't answered my question. I think the reason you don't post over there is because our posting is a bit less constrained. I ask you again to answer the question posed.

Bama's offense is misperceived for some reason. It isn't a under the center I formation pro set type of offense anymore. It really hasn't been that type of offense in years. They run a lot of shotgun and pistol formations and they throw the ball much more than people think.

My goodness. You still butt hurt over some comment from two years ago?

Seriously?

Believe what you need to believe.

I am not sure anyone was trying to make the case they did not have a competent passing attack? Clemson's passing attack is just better.

Indeed. You know, if your only goal is to annoy Gator posters, you have succeeded.

Now run along junior and let the adults talk.

Looks like my belief that McCarron could do well in the NFL if given a shot.

Going to be very interesting if he can beat the Steelers and do something neither Carson Palmer or Andy Dalton could do.

This game will really be won or lost by the defensive front seven of Alabama. If they were not so deep at those seven positions, I might favor Clemson in this game, given their balanced offense and the ability of their QB to keep plays alive. This kind of offense generally give Alabama a hard time. And it might again for some period of time. But I just do not think Alabama defense will get worn out, given their depth.

I think Alabama will spy the Clemson QB, send everybody else full bore most of the time, and use their depth to eventually wear Clemson down.

I am going to guess a close game through 3 quarters. I think Alabama pulls ahead by with a double digit win at some point.

I think everyone is ignoring this.... when is the last time bama lost a Championship game? to Tebow in 08? They win and win big in all of these games in the settle it all games

Clemson QB better be able to throw it to start out to stretch them out or they will do what everyone else does in these games.

and if their defense puts them in a hole early somehow and they are one dimensional, which is what usually happens, it will look even worse.

I hate Clemson because they've been known to bend the rules and I hate the fact that they're getting a foothold in Florida recruiting. Seems like every year they take a 5-star player out the state. But I hate Bama worse, so this game is no win for me.

If Clemson wins I'll have to hear garbage about how the ACC is now the premier conference blah, blah, blah and if Bama wins I have to hear the same damn thing about their dominance and SEC pride blah, blah, blah. Can we do away with conference smack already?

Sabans average margin of victory in Championship games is 20 ppg.

Remember also, Bama has two DC's prepping for the game with Pruitt there.

2015 Clemson is much better than 2009 Texas(backup qb), 2011 LSU(good defense but shaky qb and offensive play) and 2012 Notre Dame(overwhelmed). Deshaun Watson may even be the best qb in the country and he is a pure dual threat. Very good passer and runner. Neither team wins by 20.

Who are you picking?

Clemson 24-17.
Henry runs for 100 but Ridley is held in check. Coker is harrased all game.
Watson makes big plays with his feet.

I would love to see Bama smash Clemson but I just have this feeling this is Clemson year. They have always had the athletes but never that game changing, dynamic, refuse to allow his team to lose QB. They do now. And I think Watson will be the difference. Clemson by a little. Watson will make one more play than Bama. Something like 27-24 type game.
