All this is the aftermath of the Supreme Court ruling against Harvard and UNC using race ( Asian students ) as part of their admissions. The legal case was brought forward on behalf of Asian students who were not getting accepted into these schools based on race. The Supreme Court ruled 6-2 or 6-3 against the school’s admissions practice. Said race could not be a part of their admissions process.
Once this happened schools realized they were on legal thin ice if they were using DEI ( which almost all of them were or are ).

DEI, though well intended, creates division and separation not togetherness. We must all support one another based on content of character not color of skin.
I think this is unique right now at UF because of DeSantis and our right wing legislature. It is what Emit Smith heavily criticized last week. So don't blame NCAA. If a recruit does not come to UF because of this you can blame DeSantis and his minions

I always thought that DEI should have been based on family income not color of skin. You accomplish the same thing but in a race neutral way.

Because the liberals used blackmail against publicly traded corporations instead of federal law to institute it. Don't have a public DEI policy and your stock gets downgraded. It's cool, clearly you think skin color and sexual orientation should be factors taken into consideration by admissions and corporations. I think it's insanity, and in fact racist, sexist, and whatever else you want to come up with
