"I expect us to go undefeated this year," Mullen told McAfee. "I'm not guaranteeing it, because I'll be honest with you, I have two national championship rings here at Florida and we didn't go undefeated in either of those two seasons. We still won a national championship."

OL & run games were our Achilles heel last season.

One of the major reasons for Mullen's confidence -

Lorenzo Lingard & Stewart Reese are now eligible (and, of course, hard work from the rest of the OL), I think we get better in the run game & balance our offense.

IMO, Trask & passing game will still be the big gun, but having an improved run game will be huge for the offense.

Better depth on defense will also play a part in this championship run.

He has the right mindset. That should be the expectation for you guys this yr, dont think its possible but Mullen just understands everything. Setting that championship mindset

Mullen has always been brash and I like it. Reminds me of SOS in a lot of ways. THE University of Florida should expect championships in every sport on a regular basis. And our schedule is favorable this season. At Tennessee, at Ole Miss, at FSU, at Vandy and Georgia in Jax are our games outside of Gainesville.

Don’t you think Norvell expects and sets his goals as the same? What does it say for a coach to tell his team and fans he hopes to win more than he loses or to not get his ass kicked too many times?

Compared to the situation Norvell walked into, winning more games than losing is still a step in the right direction. Showing the offensive line can be fixed is another. Dan Mullen didn't come in here in year 1 claiming we were going to win 10 games, or the SEC or anything. I'm sure it was pretty much expected that we'd do better than 4-7 posted the year prior to his arrival. First year expectations are what they are. He has to clear those players minds of the losing attitude and make them actually believe that they will win the games. Most of these coaches and players all agree that the games are generally won and lost before the start ever even happens. Unless of course there is a landslide of a talent mismatch. See Tennessee vs Georgia State last year. GS marched into that shithole knowing they were massive underdogs but they went in there with the attitude that they WERE going to win and they made it a reality. Norvell has to first get his players straightened out and have them stop expecting to go 6-6 or get crushed by Clemson. By year 2 or 3 if his team doesn't face Clemson truly believing they will win the game, then he didn't do his job motivating them and instituting the culture of winning there.

Schedule is much harder than some may think. At Ole Miss will harder than expected. Tennessee is much improved. LSU coming in very hard. UGA. Going undefeated would be one hell of an accomplishment.
The Mississippi schools have always given Gator teams fits, especially on their home fields. LSU lost a ton of talent and will have a lot of highly rated, but unproven, players at a lot of key positions. Always a tough game. People have been saying Tennessee is much improved every year for a long time. I'll believe it when they prove it on the field. I agree, though, that any SEC schedule is difficult, Saturday Down South did rate Florida's 2020 schedule as one of the 3 easiest in the conference. https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/s...l-schedule-3-easiest-schedules-for-next-year/ and ESPN has us with the 2nd easiest in the SEC. https://247sports.com/LongFormArtic...rida-Tennessee-Georgia-148035237/#148035237_1

You're right but we're ahead of Ole Miss, TN, UGA will be ready to play...FSU is going to take a year... but this is big time football.

It is a fairly easy schedule, for an SEC schedule.

Three very easy OOC games.

We don't have two road games in a row.

We go to Ole Miss, 4-8 last year with a new coaching staff. We will not lose that game.

Yes, we have LSU, but at home, and they lost everything. They will be good, but we are better.

Tennessee is still a joke. I think this is the 30th year in a row where UT had a good back half of the season against a pile of nobodies and thought they were going to be great the next year. News flash. They won't be.

Kentucky at home. We win this game. Our all time record against them is 52-18, but did you know they won 12 of the first 16 games? Since 1957 we are 48-6 against them. 38-2 since 1980. Yeah, we win this.

South Carolina at home. Might be the game that gets Champ fired.

Vandy is on the road, but they are awful.

Florida state on the road, but they are nowhere near beating us. They will be happy if they are already bowl eligible before our game.

I look at this schedule, and I see Georgia as the only real obstacle to 12-0, and I like our chances against Newman and Co.

Tennessee is much better than you think...sadgator knows...he knows...he says it every year...but don’t undervalue that game...

Losing to Porkchop would be unthinkable for me.

I think people are discounting how disadvantage sometimes of these teams are that aren't getting a spring.

new coaching staffs, a lot of player turnover, new schemes....it's going to be rough for a lot of people.

our biggest advantage right now is that we have a lot more continuity than most people right now, even without a spring.

Did you think so last year when we beat them 34-3? You do realize it's been 14 out of 15? Do you know that, even in recent seasons where we only managed to win 4 games, one of those wins has been Tennessee?

They need to show me something before I will worry about them even slightly.

If you think we are expecting to go u defeated then i dont know what to tell you. We need to work on getting 11 guys on the field, blocking the person in front of us, getting a QB without 20/600 vision, tackling anybody, not be dumbasses by getting personal fouls after we get a stop, work on playing as a team, hell this is all just the basic stuff we can work on and not including the medium and hard stuff.

He's doing all the right things IMO, talent, roster, transfers, coaching and development of players. We'll be right there.

I think you all win 10 games easy and you guys have an outside shot of making the playoffs, should be a top 8 team.

It's all about attitude and mindset. I played on 2 bad high school teams out of 3 years. Our mindset never changed, or at least mine didn't. I expected to win and just beat the shit out of anyone wearing the other uniform. never went in thinking we couldn't win. Maybe that's your problem.

Tennessee is not good. Every single season they go on a run the second half of the season against their weak part of the schedule and all we hear is how they’re going to use that momentum and take it into next season and they never, ever do. Florida beat them 34-3 last season and it wasn’t even that close. No way does Mullen lose to roid rage potato head Pruitt.

Mullen was really making a philosophical point. In fact he something to the effect, if you think there's a game you can't win - don't play it.

Clearly that is the problem and not the o line who cant block and QB who sucks and the defense who cant tackle. Maybe if we thought we were elite...that would change....

I’m not exactly sure what this means?? Haven’t we beaten UT 14 out of 15 years?

Just sayin’... we own them right now...no doubt...but they are improved and Knoxville is tough...never undervalue our run on them right now...seriously...
They are improved?? They lost to Georgia State and BYU and then got crushed in their other 3 losses. They already have 4 losses on their schedule for next year. Oklahoma, UF, Bama and UGA.

Sad,

Every year you seem to fixate on one team & starting months before we play them, you pour fourth doom & gloom about that opponent.

Last year, you were a broken record about Miami !

This year, Miami not on schedule, so you seem to have picked Tennessee.

Who will it be next year ?

USF or after they win 6 games this year, FSU ?

Why not pick one that makes sense - Alabama at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Gainesville, FL.

We are going whip the crap out of those fools. I don't care if play them in Japan. We have better players and coaches. It will be competitive for a while and we'll pull away...or it will be a straight beat down

Well, we are 27-7 against them since 1976. I would call an 80% winning pct over 43 years as long term ownership. Although I will agree that 14 out of the last 15 is ownership of an even higher caliber.

I would say you’re right that everyone should be saying this, but Norvell is a bad example. No nole should ever have pride or believe in themselves. They are subhuman and should all lie about the fact they are fans. But yeah, you should be saying that as a coach

Bro come on...the "7 P's"? I"m sure that's what Mullen is talking about in team meetings.

His immediately appointed successor would reinstate.

man I missing the part where Trump is the one that's demanding we shut everything down?

Fauci, though he apparently likes to think himself a god, is not in charge.

dislike Trump all you like, but he can't take criticism for opening up normality too early and also be the guy that shuts it all down.

cuckhold, lol.

it's people like Fauci that want everyone to stay home and "never shake hands again."

That's the guy that's a cuckhold to his beiliefs and supporters.

I assumed Navi meant the UF president, so I was saying after the UF President was succeeded.

His other posts seem quite reactionary, so I'm assuming he's a Trump supporter, although I do not recall any of his posts that specifically mention Trump by name.

Correct, thanks The UF president (small case)what was intended. His recent overreach is beyond comprehension. Yikes. I'm a huge Trump supporter. :)
