Regular season SEC games.Mac has lost more than 3 SEC games. He lost three last year alone.
LolMac is about the equivalent of Spurrier so it makes sense. The program is in great shape. I can't remember the last time we were on an even playing field with UT and Ky. Go Mac!
oH
I am pretty sure SEC Championship games count
But he has won more SECCGs than Mac has!!!To be fair, Spurrier didn’t have an SECCG to mess with until his 3rd year.
And he lost.
What a loser.
But he has won more SECCGs than Mac has!!!
Guess the sarcasm passed by...but that Spurrier didn't win the SECCG in year 3.But he has won more SECCGs than Mac has!!!
I'm going to laugh if he blind squirrels and finds a nut vs FSU the next two years.Mac seems like he is a beast. Give this man a re up on the contract

Or better said, using them so selectively that they lose all meaning.Perfect example of stats lying.
Lol that would suck. I would probably laugh too tho. Imagine if he somehow beats fsu bama this yr and u guys make the title game......Just ugly game after ugly game but u just keep finding a way
It says two things: (1) Mac beats bad to mediocre teams, although we're starting to get a little leaky against the mediocre ones, as the last two weeks have shown; (2) there have been a lot of bad to mediocre teams in the SEC the last two years, particularly in the East.
My guess is that the Richt Georgia teams and Fulmer Tennessee teams, which Spurrier beat savagely and regularly, are the kind of teams that would beat Mac 38-13.
The East this year isn't as good as it was then, but we've got some tough games on the schedule. I think Vandy and LSU will play close games with us, at USCjr. will be tough, and aTm and UGA will be favorites against us. If Mac wins the East again, it would be impressive. It doesn't mean we're getting any closer to competing with the big-boy programs, but it would be impressive on its own.
In all honesty besides Florida...Tennessee was the only descent team in the east during the early portion of Spurrier's tenure. Richt didn't join until real late.It says two things: (1) Mac beats bad to mediocre teams, although we're starting to get a little leaky against the mediocre ones, as the last two weeks have shown; (2) there have been a lot of bad to mediocre teams in the SEC the last two years, particularly in the East.

Tennessee got real good around Peyton's Junior year
UGA was mediocre under Ray Goff and Jim Donna
Vanderbilt was horrible, had some dude named Woody coaching them, somehow he always put together a great defense. Vanderbilt today is light years better.
South Carolina sucked, Brad Scott coached them...he sucked, ol granny Lou Holtz joined up later and had them competitive but they weren't great.
Kentucky was Kentucky. They had Tim Couch slinging the ball all over the place led by the wild Hal Mumme but they never were a complete team.
Missouri was in the Big 12.
Not even saying Mc is anywhere in the league with Spurrier...but the SEC East was nothing special in the early to mid 90's. UT got real good around 95. UGA got competitive around 02. USC finally put a fair team on the field like around 2000...maybe 01.
A&M getting it together with their freshman qb...they will beat you like a drum.I doubt A&M will be a favorite coming into the Swamp, especially if we go into it still having only the one loss and win the Vandy game and find a way to beat LSU at home with it being the 3rd and last leg of the home stretch.. Plus it wouldn't surprise me to see A&M lose at home this weekend to USC and Muschamp somehow and just surely doom Sumlin in. If we lost to LSU then maybe they could be by like 1 or 2 points, but since it's at home and with how bad they are, I doubt it.
No doubtI agree. The SEC wasn't that good when Spurrier was running it. And it's not that good now. My point was more that Spurriers teams beat and competed with top national programs, Tennessee, and Bama in the SECC, while we have not seen that, or anything close, from Mac, and that is the glaring difference between the program then and now. I didn't realize that Spurrier only played Richt once. I concede that Spurrier never had to deal with a team like modern day 'Bama. FSU was probably closest. Spurrier lost more than he won against them but he did win some big ones, and the series was competitive overall.
Nobody is disrespecting Spurrier. He did beat Bama, UT, and FSU combined more than he lost to them. Mc can't say the same. I was just pointing out UGA wasn't good until real late in Spurs tenure and UT wasn't a power until 1995. SCar was average at best, UK was UK, and Vanderbilt sucked. That's the only point.Has the amount of disrespect this post shows Spurrier crossed anyones mind?

Who ever said that the 2 coaches are similar? Your just overreacting like you do on just about everything.I was just saying who the f*** would start a thread insinuating in any way these two coaches are similar. One changed the SEC, the other doesn't know the first thing about football

LOLThen what was the purpose of posting this trash. I don't GAS what our record is, anyone who understands fb at even the most elementary level knows we suck and our coaching staff is clueless
Which is "this post"? When you fail to clearly identify the post you consider objectionable, such as by quoting the objectionable text, readers have no way to evaluate your objection.Has the amount of disrespect this post shows Spurrier crossed anyones mind?
Aha! A "thread"! Not technically correct, but it's a common misnomer, and the night's no longer young, so I'll take it as close enough.I was just saying who the f*** would start a thread insinuating in any way these two coaches are similar.
Altho' not trying to make the obvious seem profound
I thought it was a pretty cool fact. Despite the ineptness of the coaching staff...we still have potential to be a top tier football program. Get the right guy in here and improve it enough to beat FSU and win the SEC Championship, the east part won't be so hard. I'm sure most upper tier coaches already know this but bouncing around different forums some think it's nearly impossible to be the status of Spurrier and/or Meyer. Grab a few more great recruits, put together a watchable offense, balance the roster with good defense and special teams, and it's not impossible to compete with Saban in the SEC and Fisher in state. Then what was the purpose of posting this trash.
