Hopefully we can get someone we can trust a little since McCarthy isn't running again for it. It will be hard with all the snakes in there though. I am sure a few votes to keep McCarthy were posturing to try to be in a position to be the next Speaker.
I’m concerned about the reports that Gaetz had discussions with AOC and her ilk… but McCarthy’s failure to kick all those extra IRS agents to the curb was definitely a bad sign.
At the very least, a decent budget negotiation would’ve forced Demoncrats to run to the Media with fresh lies about how the IRS is the average citizen’s new BFF.

Yep, Gaetz is a putz, but he made the right move here. The whole Freedom Caucus signed off on the idea that if McCarthy reneged on just ONE of the MANY promises he agreed to when being named Speaker, that they would vacate.
Well Gaetz stepped up and made the motion. Also kudos to the FC members who stepped up and voted him out. I see several who did not, Lauren Boebert and Byron Donalds come to mind.
It totally is, It sends the STRONG message that if you don't do your job, you lose your job.

Because spineless McCarthy didn't keep ANY of the promises he made to the far right wing of the party that enforced the 1 member call to vacate rule.
He knew he was on thin ice and he gave the double barrel anyway calling Gaetz' bluff. And that clearly was the wrong move.
Let's see who the next speaker is before we get too mad. I highly doubt a moderate is going to want the gavel.
