The tide can change quickly. Back entering 2010, Florida had won 6 straight against FSU and most of those games weren't even competitive. A lot of Gator fans thought it would be years before FSU would ever be competitive with Florida again, and then Cam Newton transferred, Urban Meyer left, and the rest is history.

Don't get too cocky, because things will change eventually.

No time soon. If your alumnus defiling our coach's wife didn't scare him off, he's simply not leaving. But you can hope, I guess.

I really don't know why Noles think we would want Jimbo. I have never, at any point, wanted him even as an OC.

Maybe some do, but he's never held much appeal to me.

IMHO Dumbo is a very average coach. Playing in the ACC he should win much more often than he does. No excuse to have not finished this year 11-1, only Clemson had vlose to the talent he did.

So we've been told. Gators have maintained that Jimbo is a bad coach that will never win anything. Of course now it's he'll never win again. It's like the flat earth society.

Wasn't really meaning to call you a liar, MJ. I simply thought you would prefer better than what you have had since Urban left your program high and dry. I would also have thought filtering through coaches looking for Mr. Right would be old by now so I assumed, incorrectly, that you would like Jimbo as your HC.

I am OK with our coach. He has not lost to vastly inferior teams.

We can bait back but some will cry and ask for board hygiene. Ban all of us. Long offseason approaching and you, Paco, don't have enough board credibility to carry things until Labor Day.

Touche, MJ. Thankfully he doesn't lose often to inferior teams in state. Does Miami count as being in state?

Sure, things will change in your favor sooner or later, but in 2010 UF was in the beginning of a regression and FSU was getting stronger as a program. In 2016, unless something changes, FSU is still getting stronger, and despite the 10 win season, the jury is still out on the direction UF is taking. In the current streak FSU has going, 2/3 games have not been competitive. Do you believe you will win one of the next 2 games in this series? If so, why? I could see 6+ win streak for FSU. We will have to wait and see, but you are correct, nothing lasts forever.

You know, it's funny: I posted the same thing as the OP did back in early 2010. Tebow was just leaving and I kind of insinuated that these things go in cycles and it wouldn't be long before the tide turned. Most of the posters here laughed and mocked me for it. Well, the rest is history.

But here is the thing: Jimbo isn't going to just abruptly quit the way Meyer did. As long as Jimbo is here I don't think the Noles are going anywhere. That said, there is room enough in the state of Florida for UF, FSU and Miami to all be good at the same time. It was that way in the 80's and 90's.

But it all starts with recruiting. FSU didn't break the 6 game losing streak to UF until Fisher took over and we landed elite recruits again.

I just think Jimbo is a Richt.

And if Richt does well in the ACC then that confirms it for me.

I just don't personally believe Jimbo would have the same success at Florida that he does FSU.

Go ahead and misconstrue that

Eventually. ....

Why are they all on our board after NSD anyway?

Didn't Jimbo beat the SEC Champs in the MNC? Hasn't Jimbo beat UF 5 of the last 6 years, including the last 2? Coincidentally, didn't UF beat Richt the last 2 season... just a week or so before Jimbo abused the same UF teams? I know I'm not such a smart guy & am also sure that's why your point makes no sense to me.

Fisher, Richt have 11 common opponents. Fisher 9-2; Richt 5-6.

Correction: I forgot that UGA played a home and home with Clemson in '13 and '14. Fisher 11-2; Richt 6-7.

How? Jimbo already won a national title which something Rucht has never played for even though he has coached almost three times as long.

Why wouldn't Jimbo be just as good at UF? Would you not want #1 classes and owning your in-state rivals?

He's a better HC, OC, QB coach and recruiter than McElwain.

It's amazing you guys still say he is average when his results are anything but.

I pretty much loathe Danny (no offense), but I could not agree with this post more.

I'm a pretty good guy. I do tend to have too much fun here sometimes.

As I suspected, the Noles are demanding I want Jimbo at Florida.

I think igloo should mediate for me.

Give him time. ;)

Seriously, though, I get what you're saying. Jimbo is an elite recruiter, a fantastic head coach/manager, a fantastic QB coach and an average OC with glimpses of brilliance. I don't know if he tries to do too much (HC and OC coupled with being a "control freak") or his scheme really is as complicated as pundits say. The end result is FSU has lost some head-scratches (you don't have to be a genius to admit that) and that will always nullify any "GOAT" notions.

Time will tell how his legacy plays out. He's certainly in the top 10 coaches in the game today, but he's no Saban or Meyer...but few are.

Jimbo has a chance to turn some heads come Labor Day 16' vs Ole Miss then again against Bama in 17'. We'll see.

With the offense you guys have put on the field the last few years you know you don't really believe what you are saying!
