It's happening!!!

No, it sure as hey-ell ain't "official"!

Sooo, Gator fans are indulging in their 3rd day of celebrating, because of a tweet from some "Professional Podcaster" way up nawth in Noo effin' Yawk!? How is that twit a genuine "official" of the University of Florida or its Athletic Association, hmmm!? It's really a simple concept: nothin' is "official" until a genuine "official" of U.F. makes the announcement.

No, I don't give a day-yam who Tyler's parents are, or who they work for, because it's the "Professional Podcaster" Tyler--not them--who's the twit who sent the message.

agreed it was comical that the florida boards were hooting and hollering because some kid whose daddy was on the AD search team tweeted something.

To be fair, all the skeptics were saying that all the posts about UFs interest in Kelly were baseless, but they were right on. He pretty clearly is our first choice. So maybe it’s the naysayers that are engaging in baseless speculation.

I certainly hope so...if we don't hire Kelly then maybe ALL of the UF Administration didn't think he was the right guy...but if we miss on him it will be a HUGE mistake. Kelly could be a Saban hire for us...a straight sure fire winner! You just make that deal happen if you're meeting with him.

I don't know.
I'm starting to get an uneasy feeling about Coach Kelly coming to UF. Now a third school who has yet to fire their coach, (TAM?) is gauging his interest.

I hope I'm wrong about this. Many unanswered questions here.

If I had to put money on it, I'd say we end up with Mullen.
Just a gut feeling, (or is it acid reflux) no links.

I just can't believe he'd honestly think UCLA or TAMU is a better place to win than Florida. The Gators have more titles than both schools combined. If all he cares about his winning, the choice is clear. I just can't understand the appeal about UCLA - they're a basketball school that historically doesn't care much about football (hence their 58% winning percentage as a program despite being in California and freaking Los Angeles) and underachieves on a yearly basis. They aren't USC.

Well, if we are being honest and you look at it from the perspective of who you have to beat on the field and in the recruiting game, then no, Florida is not the clear choice.

Are you honestly going to say that it's easier to get to the playoff by beating Alabama and Georgia than it is beating Washington and USC? If so, then you believe the PAC 12 is tougher than the SEC. "Ability to win" has 100% to do with "who you play", not "how your past teams have done". I'm just being honest. I mean, a plethora of programs had better winning traditions than Oregon did and he had no problem dominating the PAC 10 as HC of it. So, UCLA makes as much sense as anywhere else.

Also...with all of this being said, my sources have told me this entire time that Kelly has no interest in returning college ball anyway and is just hearing out offers in case there's a "too good to refuse" scenario out there.

Chip has been in college, reached pretty high, and been in the NFL.... I have no assumption that he doesn't want to compete at the highest level, or is seeking the easiest schedule to the playoffs.

If the PAC12 is the easiest path to the playoffs, how come very few PAC12 teams have made it? UCLA hasn't even come close. When is the last time UCLA has ever ended the season ranked in the top 10. When is the last time UCLA won the Pac 12?
As regards Texas A&M, it would be harder for them than it would be for us, they are in the same division as Alabama and have to play them every year in the regular season. Of the three schools, UF is the best opportunity.

Agree - But it still comes down to Kelly's personal life choice, what he wants to do and where he wants to live and work.

I would assume that Kelly feels like he could turn UCLA into a big winner. Assuming that is the case, it is an easier path to the playoff from the Pac-12 than the SEC. Unless you're Bama.

If Kelly is a true competitor (like Urban, Saban, Harbaugh, etc) he would want to test his skills against the best.... if he wants "the easiest path" then trust me we DO NOT want him people! The ball is in his court now and honestly I'm losing insterest in him. The UF job is a top 10, maybe even a top 5 job nationally..... and we have to hope he pics us over a school that doesn't even care about football?????? Dont be a P---y Chip! You're starting to act like one!

ESPN: “And we’re getting word out of Gainesville that Scott Stricklin has scheduled a press conference...”

Sounding like he probably won't go to UCLA. Its probably down to whether Texas A&M could talk him into going there or not. Money isn't an issue with them.

Oregon and Washington have made the playoffs. In the SEC, just Bammer.

You could have asked all the same questions about Oregon, pre-Chip Kelly, and Florida, pre-Spurrier.

Kelly isn't sweating whether he can succeed at UCLA in the PAC-12.

If we don’t get Kelly, I think it would be reasonable to try and steal away Jimbo. We could basically pay him whatever he wants.

P.S. Don’t Kill Me

I heard he signed the contract in a special ink. To get it to appear, he must put a single drop of his blood on it within one moon cycle. If he doesn't, the contract bursts into flames.

Again, let's try to be honest. He's comparing UCLA to Florida for ease of winning. I didn't say, "PAC12 is easiest path to playoffs". I'm saying it's easier to get there from UCLA than it is from UF.

Although Washington did make it from the playoffs just last year and Florida didn't. Making my point that "You have to go through Alabama or Washington" pretty much spot on.

Why would UF or even the UAA even say they have a contract or a nod if Chip is due NFL PAY as long as he doesn’t get hired as a HC anywhere? They wouldn’t so like Sadgator sad I believe he’s our next HC…

I just remember some people with so called sources early on claiming that Kelly wouldn't be considered due to the NCAA stuff in the past and then a while later all the Kelly is basically a 100% done deal talk started even with some of the same ones that claimed he wouldn't be an option.

I know how many feel about Jimbo but he would be a HUGE improvement over what we've seen. Kelly is on our radar...we should know something soon.
