In before the gun confiscation NUTS.....

And as you've admitted already, you will say anything to keep an argument going. You even admitted that you change your argument based on who is posting here.

IOW, you are another @kalimgoodman
I'll respond to the topic being discussed (Is anyone defending criminals here?). I'll leave the red herrings and strawmen to you guys.

It should be meaningful to you.

Maybe I should be asking this: "Has the NRA produced more mass shooters, or responsible gun owners?"

Which is it?
There are obviously far more responsible gun owners than mass shooters.

I don't really dwell on mass shooters with regards to my views on gun control. They're high profile but a drop in the gun violence bucket.

The NRA has never produced a mass shooter, as you have clarified earlier in the thread.

The NRA has millions of members, none of which have been a mass shooter. I suspect almost none of them have ever engaged in any criminal activity involving a gun.

So again, why are you targeting the NRA, if they aren't producing shooters and ARE producing responsible gun owners? If we can take everything you have said ITT at face value (and you've clarified that we cannot), then you should be the biggest NRA supporter on the planet.

Instead, you spend all your time ITT targeting responsible gun owners, and the NRA. And gun companies, who you claim are in bed with the NRA to produce MORE responsible gun owners!

The horror!

Chicago is the murder capitol of the world. Also home to some of the strictest gun control laws in the world.

A critical thinker can look at those two points and assume their might be a connection.

You cannot.

I never belonged to the NRA and my guns were given to me by my father or inherited from one of my grandfathers. I have no relationship to any gun companies and have never bought anything but a pellet gun.

Like a true Tennessean I grew up shooting guns. I have been shooting since I was 6. I have shot targets and birds. As a kid and a teen shooting was a favorite activity.

Since college I have shot guns less than ten times and mostly at Scout camp with my son.

My grandfather who did not keep guns as an older adult and was not the one who left me a gun was a crack shot who was given one bullet by my g-grand. He was expected to bring home game each time. My G-grand knew and was a contemporary of Sgt York. All these men knew how to shoot.

I love it when people claim I am under the influence of the NRA, gun companies or that I fondle weapons.

I know less about guns (technical ish)than most of the guys on here. Why, because I cared only about the ones I own and how to shoot them.

This fall if monetarily feasible I will purchase my first gun. A black powder rifle when it goes on sale. I may also purchase a crossbow.

Interesting about the crossbow, what are you planning on using it for?

Target shooting and/or hunting deer. Believe it or not I will need to take a hunter safety course as I have never been deer hunting.

I even plan on stalking the prey on some hunts. I haven't done anything like that since I was a kid. My dad was much quieter than I ever was.

I've never been hunting at all, have zero interest in ever going either. Seems like it would take a lot more skill to effectively use a crossbow. The additional challenge could be appealing. Post again if you decide to get one.

Is that a state law? No need at your age in Florida. I only took that class because it was a requirement to specifically hunt MINWR. At least in Florida, you should easily be grandfathered in and don't need it.

I was born in 69 and I think the cutoff year was 68 in TN.

EDIT:
Tennessee Code Annotated 70-2-108 became law in 1985 and states:

(a) Every person born on or after January 1, 1969, before hunting, shall possess, in addition to all other licenses and permits required, proof of satisfactory completion of an agency-approved hunter education course. -TWRA

That's weird. ?? I don't bow hunt so no effs to give. I was hunting several years before they enacted that law. Old AF. 😂

We need a bear season in Florida. Again. @EvilWayz I might suggest this to DeSantis. It's probably a bee in the woke bonnet he hasn't thought about yet. 😂

BTW when I wanted to be an a forensic account and was pursuing a CIA scholarship I visited Langley with s group of rising high school seniors.

There were round mirrors so you could see around corners and all the kiosk workers that sold snacks and gave information were blind.

I haven't seen those mirrors anywhere since but prisons and maybe all the people that day happened to be blind, blind people have jobs but the combination was creepy and I never forgot it.

They were actually blind...not figuratively?

You are correct that people who obey the law aren't the ones committing gun crimes but that's not a point unless you don't think we should have any laws at all.

We punish drunk drivers by taking their licenses. I've even seen judges take their vehicles. I don't see restrictions being put on sober drivers due to their drunk counterparts.

How have the gun companies tricked you?

They haven't.

1. They've trained you that anyone who is not a staunch gun defender is a liberal who wants to totally disarm you.

I learned about incrementalism from experiences unrelated to guns or gun companies Theo.

2. They've trained you that guns don't cause any problems.

Physics taught me that.

3. They've trained you that buying MORE guns actually makes life safer.

That is untrue...and I don't even believe your BS statement. I don't need multiple guns to be safe.

You're entirely FOS.

You're on own there player. I get irritated when they cull all the gators in a lake when one attacks someone. Actually that poor kid that got murdered by his daddy they killed the gator that found his body. Black bears are vegetarians and for the most part scared of people. I if people would stop leaving their trash out and jogging at weird times they'd never see a bear.

I don't care about gators one bit either way. They are coming out our ears in certain places. Dogs are the ones that are at risk big time. Adults are fine as long as you don't get drunk and go night swimming. Last June one camped out around my seawall and stayed there for weeks. It was eating the scraps from my fish cleaning station and all of the jumbo shrimp heads I'd been cast netting. I was fine with that until the 6 foot bastard started sunning every day on the boat ramp in my yard. There are a lot of dogs and young kids running around the neighborhood.

My sister keeps her trash inside her closed garage along with her grill (Apopka area). They've done everything suggested to keep the bears out of their yard.

And yet the bears keep coming. Eventually someone is going to get hurt because some of them are way bigger than I expected.

Central Fla is eat up with them......especially anywhere near the Ocala National Forest. A couple of years ago one wandered off from Guana WMA and took up residence in downtown Jacksonville Beach. The FWC moved it to Camp Blanding and put a tracker collar on it. It headed back east towards home and was captured again around Green Cove Springs. Guarantee you it was going to swim the St Johns to get back home. They eventually euthanized it.

WTF happened here I hate my phone
Gators in neighborhoods should be relocated or killed. Same with nuisance animals. I've been sharing the water with gators since I was a kid and they never bothered me because I don't swim when they're headed out to feed or coming back in. Plus I like most animals better than people because stupid animals die young.

Thats ridiculous. An animal that's not afraid of humans will teach its young not to be afraid of humans and all animals from squirrels up will defend their young. That's asking for trouble.

The city and county are even refusing to help trap them. They're saying, "try this, try that....deal with it."

We don't have constitutional carry and I I wish they'd stop saying we do. We have permitless concealed carry.

Constitutional carry is when you can carry any constitutionally protected firearm open or concealed carry anywhere not restricted by law. Technically that's an infringement but I'll take it for now.

Some idiot is going to get arrested over this.

I "think" Texas has open carry. We don't yet. But I can always claim I'm on my way to go hunting and that negates any law opposing open carry. I've got a somewhat douchebag friend that is retired LEO that affirms that, lives in central southeast FL. I used to hunt with him. Funny thing about that guy........he shot himself in the leg at a shooting range and got an early retirement out of it, plus the normal pension. 😂

I've never felt the need to carry while on the water. The Wild Wild West days of gulf smuggling days have sailed. Whenever I saw an amphibious plane land near me, I pulled anchor and GTFO of there. Nothing to see there, move along. I've had to go around small planes landing on SR 349 TWICE. But those were the days when we'd go to the bar down here and you could buy a bale out of the back of pickup truck. Not exaggerating. not one bit.

There's no law enforcement or karens on your boat. There are on piers bridges and local waterways.
