The hiring process of Dan Mullen, before, during, and after...
Mullen - Frost - Kelly was added.
Kelly removed himself from considerations, then takes the UCLA job.
Mullen - Frost - Gundy was added.
Gundy never really develops into a viable candidate.
Mullen - Frost
Neb fires their coach, Frost is a Neb Alum, Frost is removed.
Mullen was #1 from the beginning and remained so.
Mullen was the best coach,
and he was the best fit, so he was hired.
Success!

On the new coach
CHECK LIST...
When UF AD Scott Stricklin began his coaching search a little over a month ago, it’s pretty obvious what was at or near the top of his checklist:
Can he develop quarterbacks?
He has. He can. He will!
Here's Dan's QB History:
It started with Josh Harris at
Bowling Green.
Then it was Alex Smith at
Utah.
Then Chris Leak and Tim Tebow at
Florida.
Then Dak Prescott and Nick Fitzgerald at
Mississippi State.
That's 6 QB's at 4 different schools.
The new Gator starting QB doesn't need the stars given out by the recruiting service dweebs.

What he needs is to be is
smart and coachable. i.e. Dak Prescott *** -- Nick Fitzgerald **
“
Throwing is more important than running, or are you going to have everybody just standing on the line of scrimmage?” he said. “You have to be able to throw.
Accuracy,
over anything else, because you want to be accurate with your throws. And then if you can run, that’s a bonus, because that means you can improvise and make some special things happen when the play breaks down.”
Like Stricklin with his coaching search, Mullen will have a checklist when he begins evaluating the Gator QB's. He’ll start checking those boxes soon, as he searches for the Gator's next starting QB.

Everything that Dan needs in a QB is on the roster, or coming in shortly.
~
Smart,
Accurate, Athletic, Coachable.
Kyle Trask rsSo 6-5 239
Jake Allen rsFr 6-3 203
Matt Corral Fr 6-2 196
-----
Nick Sproles 6-2 211 rsSo - W-O
Jack Ruskell 6-2 195 rsFr - W-O
~ LDR, Zaire, and Franks have all had their shot at the job and they've all come up lacking imo.
The BIGGEST thing for Gator fans to see this Spring, is which 2 QB's Dan picks to run his 2018 offense.
