Thanks, I’ve been a long time fan of VDH; first “met” him when I started reading National Review ~ 25 years ago.

As a Christian, I certainly disagree with the principles of Judaism, but I also recognize my faith is directly connected to them. Accordingly, I am certainly more inclined to be identify and support Israel and the Jewish people than I am Islam.

To me it ultimately comes down to how willing the West is collectively committed to defending and upholding the tenets of Western civilization. I know where I stand (and where my fellow posters on this board stand), but when I look at the media, academia, our government, etc, my confidence is not inspired.

Fast tracked EU membership would have been a nice action. It would have also been a vehicle to get rid of the corruption. 10 years ago we could have solved this and had Putin in a box. Bush and zer0 botched it.

We are making similar mistakes with Taiwan. We should help them build bases and outfit them with our weapons. Then we after they call for it suddenly have our troops on those bases fully armed and ready to go. See Europe after WW2 and SK today.

Also simultaneously we have India, the Philippines et al in a new mutual defense pact in the Indo-Pacific. Maybe on the day we reveal our base to the world we are also engaged in military training in India with tanks around the border.

This isn't wave mechanics as Sunny would say. This is a tried and true model that has worked since 1945. If that made Truman, Marshall Eisenhower and McArthur dictators then so be it.

I support Ukraine . Not changing my mind on that regardless of how flawed they are. Ukraine may be corrupt but Russia under Putin is evil.

A penny on the dollar is insignificant.

Here's what I will say about this. It was okay to send Ukraine humanitarian aid and some equipment and ammunition to defend themselves, but this never ending funding has to cease. I believe we have sent over 100 billion dollars with no receipts to show for it. The US doing this without defending our own southern border is atrocious. We could have spent 25 billion and had wall to wall coverage, which is a drop in the bucket compared to what will be spent on these intruders once they are entrenched here. In fact, we could have built the wall on Mexico's southern border for a song because their geography and narrow entrance.

Back to the spending in Ukraine, let Europe foot the bill. It's time for the EU to put on their big boy pants for a change, they do a lot of huffing and puffing but don't lift a finger to prove it.

I will agree with @DCandtheUTBand on one thing: Putin IS evil. I think many Trump supporters downplay his true nature, and a few even almost revere him. But he's not a nice guy.

Where I think he misses it is......the people running Ukraine and the US are even more evil. It's not even close. So there is no 'supporting Ukraine' to be done. All our money going to Ukraine does is fund evil people doing evil things.

The more money we send Ukraine, the more the evil people pocket. And the more we send, the greater the chance that Ukraine will kill a few thousand civilians, just to get a 'return' on that money, and ensure that we keep sending more.

Anyone that wants to truly support Ukraine, doesn't want to send them a penny. That's the quickest way to ensure the safety of Ukraine. This whole idea that we gotta stop Putin before he marches through Western Europe then comes for the US is 1980s=era hogwash.

This has nothing to do with Putin. It's all about the far MORE evil people in the US and in Europe. They are the real enemy.

And that’s why Trumps strategy of keep your enemies closer, was working. I don’t believe anyone here (on this forum)thinks Putin is a good guy. There are just much bigger fish to fry, and as Candace stated…”we clearly, obviously, cannot do both”. In reference to cleaning our house and others simultaneously.

There’s lots of evil in the world, and as you stated….here at home.

That’s why it’s so important for us to get our house in order. America is in shambles. Maybe next year on our travels (God willing) I can start taking videos of some places. I think there are folks that know things are bad, but maybe don’t know just how bad.

The worst so far for us? Reno Nevada. It resembled something from the Walking Dead. Heartbreaking.
