Herman to LSU

Herman has two wins over top 10 teams this year, just saying. And if you think mac and Nuss have proven to be offensive geniuses you are flat out crazy.

And how many pointa did Herman's team give up to Lousivile? And how many did Louisville score of F$U? So in other words, I am expecting 50-60 by our offensive geniuses tomorrow. Fair, right???
Are you sure you are not a FSU fan? The illogic and straw men arguments are Nole worthy.

Gee a team FSU beat just beat a team FSU lost to. That's crazy and really says something about something probably. Oh yeah it doesn't.
I was referring to the "logic" that the FSU home loss to UNC was not so bad because they were ranked. What happened to that?

I could be wrong but I don't think Houston is even going to their conference championship game.

I don't remember if they said they were earlier, I don't know how they wouldn't be who else in their conference has better records? Unless Memphis just did it head to head somehow holding the tie breaker with 8 wins and Houston with 9 but two of them against OOC opponents.

They lost 3 conference games. They didn't even win their division. So no they are not going to the conference championship game.

Losing our best player on defense in the second game against whoever the hell it was pretty much meant the season wasn't going to go as planned. UNC losing to a bad Duke and NC State is fine by me they way their jackass kicker acted.

Sounds like Herman to LSU not a done deal just yet.....this thing may be interesting over the next 48 hours.

Like I said, the Dorthy boys click their heels there times, excuse anything and declare there is no place like home. Except when it isn't.

I doubt he succeeds at LSU. Texas is a lot better spot for him. If those losses led off the season he wouldnt be in demand so much.

LSU finally did something right. Not so much the hiring of O but the bitch slap they gave Herman for playing both sides. They made him look bad imo. Assuming UT is his next gig did he just lose some negotiating power?

What did LSU do right? Herman had no intention of ever going to LSU. Maybe he has less negotiating power but he's likely going to get paid the big bucks regardless.

LSU probably avoided a big $ mistake. Just don't think Herman would have been a great fit there. Big 12 ball is more his style and Texas has some talented youth there so he may compete for the Big 12 as early as next season.

The told him to pound and publicly called him out for seeking the $. I think doing that was good on their part.

Herman is going to be good regardless of where he lands. People are dwelling too much on the losses he has had in year 2. He just has it. And has 3 HUGE wins in 2 years at freakin' Houston. He is going to be a monster at Texas.

I am not convinced myself and could see a Sumlin type situation eventually if he came to the SEC but time will tell. Big 12 is definitely a way better landing spot for him to have big success however. No excuse for losing to all 3 of the teams he lost to when he had the better talent. If those losses were all early he isn't even considered for the Texas job probably.

It's interesting how much Herman's negotiating position has dropped over the past 24 hours. Between the loss to Memphis, and no longer being the subject of a bidding war between two deep pocketed programs, he's probably lost a couple of million.

Looks like they're sticking with Orgeron.

Probably the best choice, as long as they can get an OC.

Ed will go after Kiiffin, they are close & cut from the same mold.
Kiffin looking for a HC gig, though. Not getting any takers at the moment.

I don't blame LSU. I like Herman but I wouldn't let a dude with two years on his resume get me in a bidding war either. Especially if the starting point was 6+ million like what was being reported. By the end of the process you'd be paying Herman Saban or Meyer money, eff that. I wouldn't have hired Orgeron though.

Alleva hired Orgeron!! Gotta love it. Well that is good news for us. That hire certainly doesn't scare anybody.

People might disagree but they should have hired Kiffin. I think he's gonna do real well at his next job.

Hold on a second.

Is this now confirmed? TOM HERMAN TO TEXAS?

Didn't that seem logical from the beginning? What was with the LSU nonsense?

We will see but I'm not sure he knows how to run a program. Maybe he's matured.

I think so. Kiffin's problems to me were that he took jobs before he was ready. But it says a lot that an NFL team and two top universities wanted him when he was in his 30's.

He took over a 5-7 UT team and improved them right out of the gate. And if we're being honest they should have beat both Bama and UF that year. That was the year Bama won the title and beat UT by blocking like 3 kicks. Then he went to USC which was stupid because they were down 30 scholarships. They were never gonna win big with that but even then he had a 10 win season and had really good offenses each year. They tanked when the scholarship losses caught up to them. And the job he's doing now for Bama is crazy good. His work with Sims was next level. He's a great offensive mind and can recruit. I'd take the risk.

LSU admins overestimated the appeal of the job. Jimbo already has a comparable or better job no matter what sec homers say. Once the Texas job came open Herman was going there. Where were the other candidates?

Jimbo said no, Herman said yes to Texas so they hire a guy who went 10-25 at Ole Miss. Nice job.

Why in the hell would he leave Bama to be the OC at LSU? If they win the title this year, he could just about name his job.

And if he stays another year or two, Hirts could win the Heisman and let's be honest, Bama may win another championship or two.

Makes no sense.

I actually don't disagree with you, but LSU has seemed so desperate to hire their old OC that I really wasn't going to be surprised if they made him the third highest paid coach in football. You don't scoff at that money.

More control? More money? Not saying I disagree but it sounds like Ogre and he have already talked
