I work for a manufacturer. We’re getting hit with increased pricing on raw materials and lack of availability daily.
About to pass our 3rd price increase in 2021 - we’ve done 2 in the decade I’ve been here.
Inflation is about to drag its nuts across everyone’s face.
The fact that you can push through price increases should tell you that the economy is strong.
Consumers of our products are highly segmented. Rich people have money until things get really bad.
We are hearing anecdotal reports of waning demand but the channel is so dry we won’t know for months. Indirect sales are probably being bolstered by extended lead times.
Same here. That’s why the Fed is holding rates flat for now. There are signs the inflation is only temporary.
Listen, I’m not saying that inflation is necessarily good, just that it’s better than the alternative. It’s a normal reaction to a surge in demand after supply was constrained as a result of the economic slowdown. The Fed can pump the brakes if needed.
