The Fed and the President take the steps needed to slow inflation, which involves slowing down the economy by raising interest rates.
The economy, which was running crazy in the expansion after the end of the COVID lockdown, finally reacts to the increased interest rates and starts to slow. First sign of a slowdown is always the stock market dropping, as it tends to run 6 months ahead of the rest of the economy.

Why? Because none of them understand anything about the economy or how it works. If you want to slow inflation, this is how it's done. Do I need to explain to all of you how the Fed uses interest rates to balance between inflation and unemployment? Is there anybody here who knows anything about anything?
