For the last few years it seems. Not sure why people still care about this, many teams aren't on the field/court when the anthem is played. When I was in HS, we were in the locker room too. People just want to be outraged about something I guess.
You know we differ politically..and I respect that. Why it matters to me is that I put my Country VERY high. I put America OVER entitled athletes. Basketball players put a ball in a hole. I believe they are making a statement..one that really offends me. It really is as simple as that. And NO...I do not WANT to be outraged. I want for people to stay away from politics in sports. It is not the place for it, just like the Swamp board is not the place to discuss politics. You are trying to piss on our head and convince us it is raining. This move is INTENTIONAL, and I will as a proud American REJECT them, and anyone that defends it. Basically freely using my first amendment rights to do so.
Lol, this move isn't intentional. Their HC said as much. This isn't a protest, it's simply a team getting ready for a game. What statement could they be making when their own HC didn't even know? And why are the LSU players entitled? What have they done to show that? They follow the routine their HC put in place? Listening to their HC is now a problem?

LSU's PA Announcer from 2015-2021 said that the football team was never on the field for the national anthem when he had that role.

Not sure what have a different view or America has to do with this story. I just don't believe all of these reporters or officials associated with LSU would lie about this.

A video from OutKick’s Dan Zaksheske showed Iowa players holding hands during the rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner." LSU had left the court right before the anthem was played.

Yes, that's based on the clock that shows how far it is until tip-off. The UF football team does the same thing, based on a clock that's counting down. They re-appear at a certain time before warmups and the lineup is announced. This is how most teams handle warmups, we did the same thing when I played CBK. USC and UCONN did the same thing LSU did.

So Iowa has a different pregame routine from LSU, UCONN and Southern Cal who all were in the locker room during the national anthem.
Or let me guess, all of those other teams are protesting 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Even though Geno A. coached the Olympic team for 8 years, he's now anti-US. Am I doing this right? He doesn't love America like the posters on this site. 😂😂😂

First time I’ve ever stopped when girls bball is on in my life.

I played 9 years of HS football in Oklahoma and currently Coach HS lacrosse in NoVA for the past 5 years.
Every. Single. Game I’ve ever been in or been to at the HS level both teams and all of the fans stand for the National Anthem.

Yeah, we were in the locker room during the anthem. Then we came out, did warmups and then went through introductions.
Same thing they do in a lot of college games. Thanks for contributing nothing, enjoy coaching though.
