Gators to face Tulane in Gasparilla Bowl on 12/20...

Seems like the value in playing in a bowl is you get a few weeks more practice where you can work some guys in and get them reps. But the Tulane coach probably wants to win the game, which I can’t argue with. Bowl win would be a positive capper for either school. I prefer to try to win bowl games. I was generally a Mullen fan but his bowl games were disgraceful. It leaves a bad taste in your mouth as a fan when last thing you see is your team getting kicked all over the field and then the coach says “well we weren’t even trying anyways so there.”

Actually not. With the portal and transfers does anybody honestly think that the Gasparilla Bowl prep is going to make the difference between a team winning and losing games in the 2025 season?!?!?!? C’mon…

Every single day of extra practice due to the bowl counts.
Game and practice experience being cumulative is a well known fact.
Playing in the actual bowl game vs a like quality opponent counts as much or more...

And that's before you get to demonstrate your own leadership abilities for the coming season's competition to be a starter.
Other things might be included to that growing list of differences.....

JMOHO of course....
