Gators Should Be The No 1 Overall Seed

After today's game we're still #4 in the NET rankings, #3 in RPI, #14 in SOS. Our record in Quad 1 games is 11-3. Auburn is 13-5, Duke is 10-3, Houston 8-3, Alabama 10-8, Tennessee 7-7. With the way we ended the season compared to the way Auburn ended the season (lost 3 of their last 4 games), a case could be made that we deserve a higher seed than Auburn. But winning the regular season conference title is weighed pretty heavily by the committee. If they could how a tam plays down the stretch, there's absolutely a case to be made for the Gators being the overall #1 seed. We certainly deserve a higher seed than Houston, IMO. But we'll see what they say at 6 pm.

Games vs Auburn, Tenn and Alabama we are 5-1
This is something an unbiased selection committee cannot discount. Florida came into the SEC Tournament as the 2 seed. Auburn won the regular season but dropped 3 out of their next four games. Auburn was beaten in the semi-finals and did not make the championship game. In anyone's fair world that would result in Florida passing Auburn in the NCAA seeding.

Duke is Duke and always will be the choice of the NCAA but Florida should be no worse than the 2nd One Seed. The truth is they should be seeded #1 overall.

And if we hadn't lost to Georgia, we would have been SEC co-champs.

The fix was in for that game, you'll never convince me differently.

Tournament basketball is just different than reg season basketball. Some teams are just built for it. The 04’s never lost one tournament style game they played.

The team sadgator watched today reminded him of that team…and the fact that they won a tournament featuring all those awesome teams is hopefully a good omen of what is to come…
