Gator's 2024-25 Recruiting / Portal

Not surprised. I only wish he would have stepped up and lived up to his 4 star rating. He's a good kid. My son even brought him into my home on a few occasions as they were teammates at Oakleaf, till he transferred to Trinity.

I thought he had promise with that early SC game but it never worked out.

Sounds like we may get Johntay Cook the WR from TX. Didn't do much in his 2 years at TX but the ranking places still have him as a strong 4 star as a transfer. Not sure if it was just TX having good NFL talent keeping him on the bench in his 2nd season or not. Kind of crazy he is rated higher than the UCLA transfer WR we got when that kid showed on the field in 2022 what he could do with a good situation.

Much appreciated, Nick the D ck!

Don’t forget about Brad.

I understand all these receiver transfer portals that we are trying to get with experience but if you keep Dallas Wilson, Tre Wilson and Vernell Brown's catches to low numbers they will jet. I watch too many games with true freshman players tearing it up. Just look at the freshman receiver from Alabama Ryan Williams.

Very few true freshman WRs excel in the SEC until the latter part of their first season or their 2nd season. I hope we have a rare one that can dominate right off the bat.

Just like Ike and Reidel. Brett Musberger creamed himself over those then young freshmen studs. Only problem is they had Doering, Aubrey Hill and Jack Jackson ahead of them.

Yes they did but no such thing as a transfer portal back in those good ole days. I was watching a game the other day and one of the commentators said the days of most players staying with their original team the full 4 years are OVER. Go back to making them sit out a year and you will cut that team swapping OUT.

Johntay Cook is set to visit the University of Florida this upcoming weekend. They initially had an offer for him during Dan Mullen's tenure with the Gators, so it will be interesting to see how things go this time around. Billy Napier and the Gators staff will be looking to add the speedy receiver to the team, and he makes sense for what they want to do on offense, which is all about speed.

The Gators are trying to reset their offense for next season, and they've been looking for talent that could help complement what they're trying to accomplish. Getting a commitment from Cook would be huge for them

We are pushing very hard for Johntay Cook

With Lagway, we need to be able to go 5 wide at times with 5 top caliber WR.

Cook, Sturdivant, Tre Wilson, VB3 and Dallas Wilson would give you that.

5 WR with serious NFL futures.

Mizell, Hawkins and Abrams will all be right there in the rotation as well with their blazing speed.

Then the new OC will have everything he needs every game when you add in our RB room. Spread those WR out and the D will have to play only 5 men in the box. The RB will have huge lanes to make huge gains.

2025 season can't get here fast enough!
