Gators Advance to SEC Tournament Semifinals with Victory Over Georgia - Florida Gators
Florida will play the winner of Texas A&M and South Carolina Friday evening on ESPN2 after the conclusion of the LSU and Missouri semifinal game.

Let’s recap. Finished second in the regular season, won all but one series, can do no worse than second in the SEC tournament. Not bad for a team that was picked to finish EIGHTH in the conference. This softball team just gets better and better. Beating a Top 15 team like Texas A&M 4 times in 8 days says a lot about their maturity.

I would be surprised at this point if they didn't get a top 8 seed. Great job by Walton, and goodness the next two years look really promising. These freshman have stepped up.They've got a decent chance for a Top 8 seed in the NCAA tournament as well. Seedings and Regional pairings are announced Sunday night at 7 pm.
Agreed. They are playing very well. They will ne a Top 8 national seed - my guess is #6. Last 11 games were aginst Top 16 RPI teams and they went 9-2.

Florida Captures Sixth Southeastern Conference Tournament Championship - Florida Gators
The Gators six SEC Tournament Championships are tied for the most by a program in league history.floridagators.com
Good stuff. Brown was National POY in 2023, not 2022. Rothrock was National POY in 2022. Cassidy McLellan was playing very well in limited opportunities this year for the Gators, but had a season ending shoulder injury a little past the midway point in the season. Hovermale was primarily a 3rd baseman, but was beaten out for the position by Kowalewski in the fall. Kowalewski has been a solid .300 hitter in her freshman year and proven to be a very good defensive player. No way Hovermale plays SS next year. She doesn't have the mobility or range to play SS at the D1 level. She has played the least of any of the freshmen and it will be interesting to see if she opts to enter the transfer portal or decides to work harder in the off season in order to compete for a starting job. Mia Williams, who has played 2nd for Florida this year, has played SS all her career and will be given every opportunity to win the position. But incoming freshman Gabi Comia is supposed to be a great SS and could win the job.The much appreciated Seniors leaving the program:
#2 1B/OF Avery Goelz Sr
#17 SS Skylar Wallace rsSr
#29 OF Katie Kistler Sr
#18 UTL Emily Wilkie Sr
#24 RHP Mackenzie Wooten Grad-Sr
#50 OF Baylee Goddard rsSr

OF Cassidy McLellan Fr - WA 2023 PGF AA with Blazing speed and aggressiveness on the basepaths, her amazing range in the outfield and her scary power-slapping abilities at the plate. On the USSSA AA U-12 Team, she hit B-2-B Grand Slams in the same game.
7 Gms - .27 AB, 9 H, 8 BB, 1 HBP, 8 SO, 10 RS, .333 Ave.

Another class like that one and the Gator softball future will look even brighter...... 😎
That's what being a Top 8 seed means, yes.🤓And if they win the Regional, they will continue to be the host for the Super Regional.
Insta - You got your facts wrong on a few things. First of all the Knoxville bracket has Tennessee, Dayton, Virginia and Miami (OH). Lousiville didn't make the tourney this year and Indiana is playing in the Missouri Regional. Secondly, the nation's leading home run hitters this year so far are:The iG's Stat Trivia Section:
All 13 SEC teams made the tournament field, and 8 were given national seeds.
Regional Hosts: Tennis-Sea is a 3 Seed. Florida is a 4 seed, followed by 7 seed Missouri.
Then it's 9-LSU, 11-Georgia, 12-Arkansas, 14-Alabama, and 16-Texas A&M
The Knoxville Regional will have the top three home-run hitters in the country. Tennessee's Kiki Milloy leads the nation with 23 homers, and Indiana's Taryn Kern and Louisville's Taylor Roby are tied for second with 22 apiece.
While the Gators had the most team HR's in the SEC with 85.
16 - Reagan Walsh
13 - Skylar Wallace
12 - Jocelyn Erickson
12 - Ava Brown (In SEC Gms she's #2 with 8)

Karli Spaid, Miami (OH) - 36
Jenna Golembiewski - Miami (OH) - 28
MacKayla Timmons - Ball State - 25
Third, Kiki Malloy only hit 11 home runs for Tennessee. Taryn Kern transferred from Indiana to Stanford after last season and hit only 7 home runs for Stanford this year. Taylor Roby graduated from Louisville in 2023 and spent 2024 as a Grad Asst. Coach at Clemson.
The season number of games played vary widely among the 64 teams.
And that's why the W/L is not the only or main consideration when picking the 64.

But isn't whoever copies and pastes information responsible for the content? That paragraph had false information. You didn't post a link until you replied to me and that article correctly stated the actaul 4 teams who were in that regional, which didn't match up with what you copied and pasted regarding team home run hitters, which was at the end of the article. You copied and pasted the false information paragraph and headed the section with The IG Stat Trivia Section, as if you put the data together youself. I was just letting you know that the info. you provided was incorrect and giving you the true facts. Not trying to cause a problem, just wanting everybody to know what is and isn't factual information.
