Game Day Vandy: The last obstacle on the way to Atlanta

This is a very well put together gameplan to play to what Harris can do

Was gonna mention this. We are basically going all out on a spread-option gameplan. We've used lots of motion, lots of zone read, and are feasting on the short routes where the linebackers are vacating to defend the run. Coaches doing a damn good job calling the game so far. If the offense doesn't perform it won't be on them, it'll be Harris. They're calling plays that should fit him.

By the way, it looks a lot better going for 2 than to miss an extra point.

Some coaches suggest going for 2 all the time anyway, it's only 3 yards. Let's say your offense averages 4.5 yards per play, your probability of getting 2 is actually better than your probability of making the XP even though everyone thinks the XP is the safe call. Attempting to get 3 yards>>> attempting a 17 yard FG.

And see I had no problem with the call to go for it earlier but I don't understand why we wouldn't just keep our offense out there and go for it as opposed to running a fake. Everyone had to know that was coming because of our FG issues and on top of that we have the ball in the hands of players who aren't used to handling it.

I know Hardin was a bad place kicker for us the last few years, but he's gotta be better than the dentist.

Bullard is a man amongst boys today. Offense better get their ish together

The offense keeps taking two steps forward, one step backward, it's so annoying. Like we'll put a good drive together and move the ball then we'll get a tackle for loss that puts us behind the chains, a poor throw leaving us 2nd and long, or a false start and on and on.

Time to hit the recruiting trail for a new kicker:

O-line is getting whipped too. Can't run and we have at least one free rusher on every drop back.

TKE, you're right on that too. Not even the WR screens are accurate. I really think this dude just overthinks his throws way too much, he tries to guide everything. That's as simple a play as there is. Catch, step, throw. You can see him trying to gather on those screens, like why???

Offense has been sluggish but so has play calling. We have superior WRs and TEs. Throw the ball down the field a little.

Vandy's punter has been impressive too. We keep backing them up and he just flips the field every time.

LOL@ that 1st down call. Vandy player was in the backfield before we completed the fake. O-line is struggling as much as the QB, bad combo.

finally put 2-3 good plays together and we run a trick play, why??? Now we're in 2nd and long again.

We're just being way too cute. 4th and 1, get in the pistol, spread the field, and run the damn ball. Instead we call a rollout with only 1 pass option.
