This! It's basically an extra point from the left hash. Why even dress him?

It's the right call. You should almost never punt past midfield or kick a FG once you're on the goal line, it's poor strategy. You go for it there and even if you miss you're forcing a very poor offense to drive 95+ yards, the odds are in your favor that WON'T happen. Most coaches are gonna play it conservatively backed up on their goal line so you'll likely force a punt and get great field position too which means you're much closer than where you would have started otherwise. You don't drive the length of the field for FG's.
