What the NFL will conclude is that Jameis has been investigated by three separate independent tribunals, and never has even been charged with a misdemeanor, let alone rape, relative to the cleat chaser 'he said - she said" brouhaha.

Tampa will take Jameis first overall because he's the best, most NFL-ready prospect in decades, perhaps ever.

The first part of that quote is good too...NFL teams care about a hell of a lot more than just what he was "charged" with....runs a wee bit deeper than that, and their researchers, former high end pros like FBI agents, might even dig a bit deeper than the campus police and TPD...maybe....

Pardon me, but your jealousy's showing, Gators.

Jameis is the best collegiate QB EVAH.

EVAH.

Fire away on your subjective home board, Gator wannabes.

To be honest Winston probably isn't even in the top 5 of best college QBs of all time. He's not ahead of guys like Vince Young, Tim Tebow, Charlie Ward, Danny Wuerrfel, Matt Leinart, Marcus Mariota (if he wins the title on Monday).

Winston's stats weren't good enough this year to put him in the conversation. He threw too many interceptions and he only had a QB rating of 147 this year.

Many think that Winston was better this year than last. His stats definitely suffered, but the caliber of team around him was markedly less this year. Apparently Tampa is passing up Mariota for Winston because they see more pro potential.

The ONLY thing Jameis Winston is the best ever at is committing felony sexual assault and getting away with the crime. As a college qb John Elway, Payton Manning and Dan Marino were better football players, better human beings and they could speak English properly.

And again he wasn't as good as these QBs that have played before him in Vince Young, Tim Tebow, Charlie Ward, Danny Wuerrfel, Matt Leinart & Marcus Mariota.

All the above guys played on a different type of team every year, but their stats didn't suffer like Winston's did. I'll just use Tebow as an example. He lost Harvin and some other weapons and still came back and had a 164 QB rating. In fact Tebow only threw 16 interception in his entire career and has a better career QB rating than Winston did.

I'm pretty sure, Leinart, Ward, Wuerrfel, Mariota etc all lost good offensive players off their team, but were still able to perform very well. Winston's QB rating was 27th in the country this year.

Winston was a very good college QB. Not going to argue that, but he wasn't a better college QB than the guys listed above.

If you really step back and look at it as far as stats and accomplishments (team & individual), both Tebow and Mariota are way out in front of everybody else. Mariota needs that title on Monday night though to cap it off.

Winston's made the All-ACC Academic Honor Roll, and like Elway but unlike Manning and Marino, was admitted to Stanford, and Winston is as pro ready as any collegiate QB has ever been. Jameis will be Tampa's sports savior.

Suggest you simmer down on the name calling, professor, or I will happily run you. Review the notice pinned to the top of the page, and govern yourself accordingly, or get thee hence.

I presume you've just awoken from your post-Oregon-bludgeoning stupor. Haven't seen you since then. Shocker.

Only those that are not able to use reason, logic or reading comprehension.

But let's say you are right. Let's say he had a better year this year than last year, given the number of games FSU would have lost without him.

That does not bode well for next year, does it? Nor should it give FSU fans any comfort regarding Fisher's coaching abilities.

Actually, pretty darn good. He passed for more yards than "the other guy" and equaled his INTs. Turnovers were key as was the failed 4-down attempt at scoring on that 2nd drive (kudos to ORE's defense on that).

FSU put up 540 yards of offense...that's enough for a very competitive game (and in many cases a win).
That other guy threw 2 TD passes and ran for another. That other guy also had a higher completion percentage and a better QB rating for that game. That other guy as well as Tebow, Vince Young, etc likely will end up having a better college career than Winston as well if he wins the National Title next week.
and the other guy didn't even have that good of a game. Imagine if he did.
