Former Secret Service leader defending trump's Jan 6 actions is a liar

I've already explained this to you. Who overthrows a government without firearms?

Egypt?

Unless this is the American version of a coup: lazy, fat, and stupid.

Yes the Green Bay sweep was a plan of lazy fat stupid people

1/6 wasn’t about violently overthrowing the government. That’s a straw man being used by people like Ghost to make non-Trumpers look irrational. It was about Trump trying to intimidate the legislature and Pence into overturning the election results.

He resigned. How's that a coup?
When its FORCED on you by political protest of the country's citizens & the political opposition.

They attempted it on Jan 6 ...said so themselves
They thought they were starting a revolution LOL

Dumb but that was their intention

I'd classify it as a revolution, since 846 people died and some 6k were injured.

Your revolution is the governing body's insurrection

Ya think Great Britain viewed the Boston Tea Party the same as you?

Sometimes I wonder if any of you have ever learned any American history at all

Nobody forced him to do anything. He could have told them to pound sand. Instead he resigned and turned power over to the Supreme Council of Armed Forces

Funny, the COUP that happened in Egypt happen to Mohammed Morsi (sp?) the guy that came to power after Mubarak.

Borders WIDE OPEN, with many terrorists, drugs and people who are not allowed in our Country legally crossing EVERY second........1/10th of the people crossing when Trump was in office

Stock market tanking........Went up. WAY, WAY up under Trump

GDP has STOPPED......highest in decades under Trump

Recession being predicted by almost every economic forecaster.....Biggest economic boom in 50 years u nder Trump..with women, blacks and hispanics seeing biggest gains UNDER TRUMP

So lil dickey, Trump accomplished all of this, and MUCH more, while being attacked without cause from low life, POS, un American democrats, using many agencies in our own government. What is Brandon's problem?

There's only one kind of coup. He was the President of Egypt, and the security forces were loyal to him. He could have resisted, he chose not to. That's what patriots do.

We were a colony of England. We told them they couldn't tax us without representation, and they tried to take our guns away and sent troops.

Throwing a bunch of tea you didn't pay for into the harbor isn't violent. Actively fighting English troops was.

As you pointed out, the British viewed the Tea Party differently than we did. They also didn't recognize our country. From our standpoint we were resisting an invasion, from their's, they were retaking a rogue colony.

I really can't explain this any simpler.

A coup and an insurrection are not exchangeable terms. A coup is an insurrection, but an insurrection isn't necessarily a coup.

I understand the desire to not be considered a "trumper" in public

But defending the Big Lie and calling William Barr a "Never trumper" pretty much is the litmus test of a trump supporter

guess what? You passed.

1) Barr is a never Trumper, and the least secure and most fraudulent Federal Election in history happened on his watch...right under his nose. What do you expect him to say?
All I've heard from him are platitudes like this, he, much like yourself, refuses to engage on the facts because you can't. You'll lose the argument.
2) 2000 was 22 years ago. How many major federal election fraud cases have the SCOTUS been involved with since then? My guess is the justices realized it was judicial overreach because they won't even take cases up anymore. And I brought it up but I'm the dumbass?

When the temper tantrums and name calling start you know you're over the target...

As you pointed out, the British viewed the Tea Party differently than we did. They also didn't recognize our country.

We weren't a country at the time of the Boston Tea Party

Insurrection first
War second

That's how it works chronologically

Yes. After seeing 846 of his countrymen killed and another 6 thousand injured, he decided it would be better for the country if he stepped down. Probably another influence to his decision was the fact the Muslim Brotherhood most likely would have killed him if he hadn't. But he still could have used the security forces to stay in power for awhile.

Ok, now you're arguing semantics. If you're waiting for me to concede that the Jan 6th folks were violently resisting the government, I'll concede that point. Was their intention to disrupt the counting of electoral votes? Probably. Were they trying to over throw the government and were they ordered to by DJT? Nope, and until someone provides enough evidence for a criminal indictment, I'm willing to die on that hill.

On March 5, 1770, a street brawl happened in Boston between American colonists and British soldiers.

Later known as the Boston Massacre, the fight began after an unruly group of colonists—frustrated with the presence of British soldiers in their streets—flung snowballs, ice and oyster shells at a British sentinel guarding the Boston Customs House.

Reinforcements arrived and opened fire on the mob, killing five colonists and wounding six. The Boston Massacre and its fallout further incited the colonists’ rage towards Britain.

You don’t know the first thing about anything you talk about, and your evidence are clips from MSNBC and CNN hosts…proven liars.

I’ve provided videos of voting fraud, impossible statistical anomalies (math = science) and geolocation data showing people visiting 30-50 drop boxes…the same data that put the J6 protesters in jail and the police use to solve murders.

But you ignore all of that, really anything someone shows you, that causes you the slightest bit of cognitive dissonance. You’re a hyper partisan ideologue that would rather see your political adversaries in jail than have a reasonable debate.

LOL

Did you read he article?

It clearly states why the whole nonsense of the Green Bay sweep is an ILLEGAL act.

1st situation: The Biden electors were lawfully certified. It was the trump fake electors who were not lawfully certified.

2nd scenario: No state submitted 2 lawful slates of electors Pence as the head of the Senate (Congress) rejected trump's fake electors, the National Archive rejected trump's fake electors

NOBODY with any authority accepted 2 slates of electors

That interpretation applies to two scenarios in the 2020 election. The first is a situation where only one set of electoral votes is submitted by a state, and objections are raised on grounds that electoral votes were not “regularly given” by an elector, or that electors were not “lawfully certified” according to state laws, according the CRS.

The second scenario applies when two or more slates of electors from the same state are submitted to Congress, as was the case for the 1876 presidential election. It is unclear, said the CRS, if Congress could vote to discard a slate of electoral votes certified by a state if it followed its own election laws. “The assumption presented in the law is that only one list would be from electors who were determined to be appointed pursuant to the state election contest statute (as provided for in 3 U.S.C. §5), and that in such case, only those electors should be counted,” the CRS determined.

Regardless, as of December 15, 2020 the first scenario would seem more likely, unless a state legislature decides to send a second slate of electors to Congress and the Archivist by January 6, 2021. By December 9, 2020, all 50 states and the District of Columbia had certified their electoral votes as required by federal law.

I think it’s more about posterity, to ensure that future generations understand the how close Trump came to wrecking our democracy.

The second goal is to amass evidence and build public support for a possible criminal trial against Trump.

The only point?

Is it worthwhile to look at electoral college reform in light of the Green Bay Sweep?

Is it your belief that the will of the people be eligible to be circumvented?

If he runs in 24 I’ll probably vote against him in the primary but if he gets the GOP nomination I’ll vote for him over whatever sh!tty the Dems will offer up….

There are A LOT more reasons to automatically CANCEL trump than some theoretical Dem with no name

Change my mind…. Convince me that Biden is doing a great job as POTUS, and that Dems deserve to retain control of Congress.

I don't think trump did a great job (you seem to agree) but you're resigned to voting for him.

Why don't you explain that reasoning yourself becaue I don't know where your getting this idea that I've ever said Biden is doing a great job.

And after Jan 6 why don't you explain why all of those GOP congressmen involved shouldn't banned from running for public office?

I think it’s more about posterity, to ensure that future generations understand the how close Trump came to wrecking our democracy.

Not necessarily going to defend Trump but he’s not the only one “wrecking our democracy”.

HRC / Obama / Biden etc set the Trump dossier into motion before and after the 2016 election. Trump was (unfairly in my view) subjected to a nonstop smear campaign of Russian collusion that has since proven to be completely false.

Undermining a sitting president the way it was done is frankly treasonous. There is ample evidence to suggest that Biden could be compromised by Chinese and Ukrainian connections via his crackhead son. Crickets from the media and the political establishment.

The only point?

Is it worthwhile to look at electoral college reform in light of the Green Bay Sweep?

I don’t know anything about a “Green Bay Sweep”. I do agree that electoral college reform is probably needed.

Is it your belief that the will of the people be eligible to be circumvented?

No. Of course not. But I also believe in election integrity. There was definitely some shady sh!t going on in multiple states but to prove it Trump would have had to play 3-D chess in multiple court venues simultaneously. His fate was effectively sealed when the states certified their electors in December 2020.

And so if someone posts about a likely candidate for the GOP nomination and says I'll vote for anybody over the shitty candidate trump the GOP offers up...what's the problem?

There are A LOT more reasons to automatically CANCEL trump than some theoretical Dem with no name

Ok. That’s your opinion.

I think Trump did a decent job considering the phony Russian collusion case that was a cloud over his whole presidency.

I’ll still vote for Trump over anybody the Dems nominate. No thanks to open borders, unlimited abortion on demand, soft on crime, huge deficit spending etc.
My response is imbedded. Tried to use bold italics to highlight but the site or my phone wouldn’t allow it.

There was nothing illegal about it. No one’s been charged, no one’s going to jail. 7 states sent contested electors. Most of those states held Constitutionally invalid elections because the Legislatures weren’t the ones changing how the elections were run.

It was within Spence’s authority to send those slates back to the states so they could reconvene and send back clean EC votes to be counted.

This is why the left is pushing to rewrite the ECA.

Straw man being used by Ghost? I swear everywhere I look, the media and politicians are calling it a violent insurrection. Whats weird is that the summer riots which were much more violent, caused more deaths, and injured thousands, are referred to as “peaceful protests”.

Tell me again about this straw man, snd rationality, of non trumpers.

1) That was in January - what’s happened since?
2) The effort was started by the left, and the last time you cited a “bi-partisan” committee it was 129-1. The spokespeople in that article are not conservatives. Susan Collins is a RINO and Manchin is a democrat.
The left (and their Uniparty RINO’s) wants to make sure the next time they cheat there will be no challenges. That’s all any of this is about, codifying cheating and stealing our country from We the People.
That’s all the J6 crap is about and that’s all this is about.
