Former 5* WR Shorter to UF!

Opinions vary. But, as I said, he may have a better season if he fits well in Monkens scheme.
I watched a few Wake games this year. That QB is not very good. If you guys are moving to a mostly zone read with a bunch of QB runs, then maybe he will be serviceable. Based on your schedule this year, I'm thinking 2 losses.

Transfers at the QB postion almost never workout as well as they "should have" on paper. It's probably an 8-1 ratio against the fan expectation imo.

Yep. QBs are the on-field coach, they run the offense, and its very very difficult to simply plug a QB into an offense and expect him to get good results immediately.

But I do think it's amusing that the dawg homers suddenly think this is the way to go. If that's the case, why even recruit QBs? Why doesn't Kirbs just grab one from the portal every season?

Remimder: When Kirbs gets canned, one of the first things homers will bitch about will be how ridiculous it was that Kirbs signed all these supposed stud QBs, yet had to take a Wake Forest quitter in his fifth season. Wait and see.

If you are a dog fan, your best hope is that Kirby runs 3 yards and a cloud of dust, with the D giving up like 14 points per game. they have the talent and coaches to make that happen pretty effectively.

That is the most likely scenario IMO

Actually not all that in to this guy. But he's here now so let's see what he can do.

Everyone will be on a new system. Lots of teams have experienced that, including your own. You probably know our O sucked so it’s not like there’s lots of room to go backwards to start with.

But, other than South Carolina, Fromm didn't make many mistakes. You were able to punt and play field position. But now, the WR runs an out where the QB thought it was an in, and suddenly the ball is going the other way.

You won 4 games last year that were within one score. How many do you win if you have just one more turnover in the game? Pretty easy to go from 12-2 to 8-5 when the margins are slim so often.

That was only against you guys.

You are missing the point, maybe it's intentional...dunno.

The point is that you had a top NFL talented QB last year that struggled and he wasn't the problem. Now you are going to have a less talented QB who won't have the physical tools to do the same.

I'm a big Fromm fan - that guy regressed and it all comes down to your head coach. Now you'll have less talent and it's going to be a bigger issue.

I think this is all we need to know about Todd Monken

1989–1990 Grand Valley State (GA)
1991–1992 Notre Dame (GA)
1993–1997 Eastern Michigan (DB/WR)
1998–1999 Eastern Michigan (OC/WR)
2000 Louisiana Tech (RB/WR)
2001 Louisiana Tech (WR)
2002–2004 Oklahoma State (PGC/WR)
2005–2006 LSU (PGC/WR)
2007–2010 Jacksonville Jaguars (WR)
2011–2012 Oklahoma State (OC/QB)
2013–2015 Southern Miss
2016–2017 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (OC/WR)
2018 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (OC)
2019 Cleveland Browns (OC)
2020–present Georgia (OC)

Yep. And he knows it, this is all about protecting Kirbs. They threw Fields under the bus and blamed the 2018 SECCG loss on him when 4th and Kirby wasn't smart enough to call a timeout when Bama left its BASE DEFENSE on the field on 4th down.

Now they are trying to blame Fromm for the offense sucking in 2019. Everyone in the program gets blame except the head coach. The Homer's Defense.
