We actually completed 17 passes but thanks for the concern.
A win is a win, especially on opening night against a good team. But the secondary seems way overrated, especially the safeties, who played a terrible game. Franks doesn't seem to me to have improved dramatically like people have been saying all offseason. I think 6 or 7 fumbles hit the ground during the game and we recovered only the muffed punt. Got outfought for the ball consistently. The O-line seems about like last year - average. Maybe with 4 new starters, they'll get better, but they looked much like last year to me. The D-front is excellent and I think won the game. The coaching prep for this game and the in-game playcalling was not very good, IMO. But we're 1-0, I still love my Gators and we'll see what happens next. Gooooo Gators.
We got the one on the punt, but yeah, I ended up by the end screaming JUST GET ONE OF THEM because it isn't such a nail biter if we scoop up a couple more fumbles.
Good win...I think??? Well an ugly win is better than a pretty loss, at least that seems true in this case. I know it is a season opener, but both teams looked really bad, playing and coaching.
Are you guys really the #8 team in the nation? As much as want you to curb stomp my rival Cocks (Gamecoots), I had your game penciled in as a win for the Gators and a loss for the Cocks. I believe that I am going to have to take out the eraser and change that. I just do not see this team (as it looks now) going into Cootbumbia to the Chicken Pen and beating them. I know their tone has changed overnight, as they had you guys as a loss, now they are talking about beating you guys down. I hope that is NOT the case.

I think UF got maybe one out of 10 loose balls on the ground tonight. This could have been over in the first half and gotten ugly, with UM still on the short end of the stick. I'm just happy with the W. UM sucks donkey kok!

We just opened up against a defense that was 3rd in the country last year. I'm sure if we played Vandy we've have won 40-10 and looked dominant. Go live on your own board you pathetic piece of shit. Nobody wants you here.

Yes we should have early in the game when for some odd reason we spent the whole half lining up under center running up our guards ass. But not up 24-20 needing one first down and with their defense worn down. Mullen was absolutely awful tonight. No sugar coating it. But at least we won.
Even though it wasn’t pretty that win will still help with recruiting, perception of the program, etc because it was an in state rival with lots of history.

I like you brotha but you're just off on this one. Everyone will focus on the interception while ignoring Franks should not even have been put in that position to begin with. Excluding that disaster which is 100% on Mullen, he played fine. And when UF fell behind late in the 4th he mad 4 great plays in a row and drove them down the field for the win. He was not the issue last night.
Garbage playcalling on offense and absolutely awful tacking defensively were far bigger issues. Zuniga, Greenard, and Franks were UF's best players tonight.
Tonight, absolutely. And I'm a big Mullen fan but that doesn't mean he gets a pass. The team was horrific in every aspect. We had 80 yards of damn penalties in the 4th alone. Guys were out there doing stupid shit and he was on his headset laughing it up like he was too cool for school.
And again we're a spread offense and we spent 3 quarters under center with multiple TE's on the field running it up the gut on 1st and 2nd down. Almost always into a stacked box. Then people want to blame the offensive line. 5 can't block 8. It was conservative garbage and almost lost UF the game.
In this game? Absolutely. I didn't recognize the team that got up in Michigan's ass with no lube.
From an outsider looking in, Gators Defense could be elite if they work out some glitches. Franks is a really good qb, though it looks like a challenge for him finding the speedy receivers. good opportunity for Mullen to earn his money and find some better plays.

I think Mullen did too much over thinking with this one. Looked like he was trying to protect our O line, but they played fairly well. We won't see a better front 7 this year unless we see Bama. An opening season W against an instate rival...nothing wrong with that.
