Hate to say this, but White has not been in the same ballpark of successful as Smart. Zook was the correct analogue.
Being honest Smart has done way more so far. He has won an SEC Championship and can at least say he has won a conference championship and played in and won a game in the Final Four. Smart also makes his top recruits draft picks while White hasn't had anyone drafted yet even with quite a few pretty high ranked recruits - while even FSU has had 7 NBA draft picks in that time.
Probably going to keep messing with White until he makes a Final Four.
I still remember the 'Fire BillyD' crowd from a few year back, and they were just as village idiot stupid as the current group of Mike White haters... 😏
I would like to see some names on that claim. I remember a little bitching when we didn't make the tourney but don't ever remember anyone saying he should be fired. We never looked at basketball like KY fans did that I remember.
The draft picks issue is the most concerning to me. Top recruits want to go to schools that top picks come from, not schools that top recruits go to and then never make it to the next level.
Watching the Arkansas game and noticing how 5 star Scottie Lewis is a total non-factor. Doesn't start anymore and committed 2 quick fouls when he came in the game. They're jacking up 3's without working the ball around at all and the commentators noted there's too much dribbling. That's been a trademark for years and we can't blame it on Nembhard this year. On defense they're getting blitzed. They simply look overmatched. I know they haven't played a game in 2 weeks, but c'mon, man! Down 30-17 with just under 5 minutes left in the half. I'm gonna watch a movie with my wife.
Fire them all. Socialist-U means less and less to me each day that goes by....

1. Are just so incompetent that they can't make correct calls.
2. Are so biased that they can't call a game evenly for both sides.
3. Are so corrupt that they can be easily bought.
It's one of more of the above 3, so coaching and player talent are a distant 4th in determining who wins games.
SOS's answer to that was to RUTS so high that he took the officials out of the game W/L decisions most times.
Because of many factors, this is much more difficult to accomplish in B-Ball.
Notable SOS game exceptions were The Swindle in the SWAMP and The Rip-Off on Rocky Top.

Insta you had no problem blaming the players as the cause before. How are they now only 4th along with coaching talent. Also White is getting smoked by many teams that have less talent if the recruiting standings are predictive at all.
don’t try logic with Insta..... won’t work. Begin with 4th grade taunts, and cut & paste stats that have no bearing but are voluminous... filibusters are the best approach

Change the coach and those high talent shooters will never miss another shot.... 🤓

Ever consider coaching is important in setup and shot selection? Goodness...it can even effect shooting.

The dancin willies had it worse.... The dude got us to the ND game 30 min b4 kickoff... This is not a lie, we arrived, warmed up for 20 minutes and then got soundly thumped 45 to 10.... We were never winning that game....but damn. Then, he held a recruiting day at the school, never told kids where to park or go, we had a 5 star and few 4 stars drive hours to get there only to wait 4 hrs to get into the school lol it was an absolute shit show.
SEC Defenses in 2020
Grantham finished in the Top 10 his first 2 seasons at UF.
Only one 2020 SEC team barely finished in the Top 10 in the nation, #9 aTm.
The Gators only lost to them in their house by 3 pts on a final minute 50+ yard FG.
Only one other SEC team finished in the Top 25, #12 UGly.
The Gators beat them on a neutral field by 16 points as UGly only managed to score 28 pts..
Texas A&M finished ninth in the country and Georgia 12th – both allowed more than 317 yards per game. That's more than the Gators allowed in 2019 (304.8 ypg) when they finished 9th nationally in total defense.
At #83, the Gators still finished ahead of 5 other SEC teams.

The game has changed and is much more pass heavy in the SEC than before so of course other numbers will change. Still no excuse for what Grantham put on the field in 2020 however. Mullen may have had a crappy running game in 2020 but he still adapted and had a top 10 offense. Grantham just became worse on other downs besides his usual late 3rd down collapses in close games even with a "top 10" defense in numbers.
Taking over a clulster, Graantham finished in the Top 10 for 2 seasons.
Then in the Kung-Flu season, while still working to improve the quality and depth of his roster, he finishes in the middle of the SEC.
That's the kind of proof that VI's claim is a reason to fire MULLEN'S choice for his DC.
If Todd needs firing, then the guy that hired him twice, then got him a nice raise (paid over a Mil) to keep him, needs to be fired along with his choice for DC.... (or does the buck stop elsewhere?) 😏

Mullen needs to just fire him as he is the one that cant teach the newer guys to play defense properly. Defense fell completely apart even more than the 3rd down mess once he was in charge for 3 years and sidehat was long gone.
