Fields to tOSU

You think the motivation behind the transfer restrictions is to allow the kids to focus on academics? That’s hilarious.

No, I think it's about not having players being recruited every year and teams poaching other team's players. Pretty sure I mentioned that. But it's also an issue concerning academic success. And as the NCAA has made a concerted effort in the past 30 years to put more emphasis on graduation, the transfer restriction has been realized to help in that area as well, so it is another reason why they won't eliminate it now.

He decommitted from PSU. Unfortunately gave FSU a cursory look but we had no real shot at him. It was a UF or UGA decision. Your coach won out. Bagged recruits that wanted to play with him. Ran him more than let him throw. And now he’s gone. But that recruiting class stayed intact and UF didn’t get him. Well done by Kirby.

Fields going to UGa was a lose lose for both him and UF. It may be considered a win for UGa as him going there drew other recruits, but his performance there certainly wouldn't qualify as a win. But I do think he would have been our starting QB, if not the first game, surely by midseason.

When you have a QB that took you to the CFP title game you roll with him. UF didn’t sit Leak to develop Tebow. He was given a package to basically run, not develop him as a full fledged QB. And that’s him saying that, not me.

Flawed comparison. UF HAD to use Tebow because Meyer’s offense demands his QB’s run the ball and Leak was incapable of doing that. UGA didn’t need to use Fields in some bootleg option package because their offense doesn’t demand their QB run and they had an elite ground game. They just had no idea what to do with him and because he was athletic said “hey let’s put him in to run!” It was almost always a wasted down.

Justin Fields told Emory Jones he should go to UF. UF was 2nd for Fields. My guess if Fields had to do it all over again he wouldn’t have gone to UGA and would have gone to UF. His ties to UGA were too strong but he knew Mullen could develop QBs.

With that being said UF is just fine and is all set at QB for the foreseeable future.

LOL... thanks for help proving my point. That play was supposed to be a pass and Fields didn't get the snap off like it was designed (although Kirby should have called timeout when that didn't happen).
He can't read SEC defenses as well as Fromm (most guys can't) and he wasn't beating Fromm out, regardless of what you say. Had Fields beaten out Fromm, Fields would still be in Athens.

LMAO@ this. The lengths y’all go to is really unbelievable. Yea the fake punt on 4th and 11 against a safe defense didn’t work because Fields didn’t get the snap off in time. That’s why. Y’all are really buying that BS Kirby is selling y’all big time. Rewatch the play Bama kept their regular defense on the field anyway and as soon as Bama saw Fields stupidly lined up in the backfield they checked into coverage. Kirby may as well have had a sign up signaling fake punt.

Putting Fields in at all made other teams dedicate practice time to it.

How's that statement a reach? Just because Taggart doesn't prepare doesn't mean other teams don't.
Putting him in games does not prove he was being developed. That appears to be Fields complaint. If Kirby’s plan was simply to put him in just to make other teams prepare for him how is that developing Fields? He was run more than he passed. In the SEC title he was run more than he was asked to throw that one dumb pass on the most critical down of the game. The guy you say can’t read a defense.

I didn't say he couldn't read a defense. I said he couldn't read a defense as well as the guy he couldn't beat out. Has Fields actually said that he wasn't being developed? U haven't seen that. I know he practiced for the Sugar Bowl with the team. Why would he have stayed and practiced if he wasn't being developed?

Maybe he’s a good teammate. Maybe he’s not that entitled brat you and your fans are making him out to be. The rumors of his unhappiness didn’t come up after the Sugar Bowl. The rumblings got louder during the season. And if his development is the centerpiece of his argument and he was lied to by Kirby the country will be in his corner. And your coach and program are going to take a big hit. It’ll be interesting to see what his hardship waiver says. I would be nervous too if I was a dog fan.

LOL... please show me where I've called Fields an entitled brat. My point about practice for the Sugar Bowl was why stay if you're getting nothing from it. This whole "UGA didn't develop a player" is ludicrous. The 85 schollys are too valuable to carry dead weight and not get the most out of every single player on one's roster.
You want everyone ready for "next man up." Heck, we just went through next man up at QB last year when Eason got hurt in our opener. There's really nothing to see here except a kid is taking a chance of an easier path to playing time. Good luck to him personally imo and with his health, but (like I've been for years) I hope Ohio State doesn't win anything. I'd actually pull for him to win at several schools, but not OSU or Michigan.

You’re the one that hit the like button when a fellow dog fan called him entitled. You’re also the one that can’t refute the facts as they are laid out. Pro style offense brings a kid in to play qb yet your coach makes him run more than he throws. He has more rushing attempts than James Cook. How was he developed being asked to perform like that. You still can’t give an honest answer about how many of those 42 rushing attempts were called passes. Instead you throw an arbitrary number out because you guys have invested so much that Kirby is the next Saban the thought of him making a mistake is haunting.

And I would say that if you’re getting everyone ready for the next man up, Fields would have been given more opportunities to throw rather than called runs.

Do you think most kids are developed in games or practice? Lots of kids don't even see the field much for a couple of years at many programs.

Both. You try to make practice simulate a game but it's still not all that close for the most part. Most teams don't even go 1 vs. 1 for example. Practices and games are two different things. Obviously you earn your right to play by how you practice though. For the most part.
