ESPN predicts Florida will lose to Texas A&M, LSU, & UGA & end up 7-3.

Of interest, writer of this article may be a HS graduate, also said that UF leads the UGA series 49-46-2 & found 33 ties in our LSU series.

https://gatorswire.usatoday.com/lis...da-gators-football-2020-game-by-game-results/

Predicted winner: Texas A&M
Florida’s chances of winning: 47.6%
The series: Tied 2-2-0

Predicted winner: LSU
Florida’s chances of winning: 45.6%
The series: Florida leads 33-30-33

NOTE: Florida actually leads the LSU series 33–30–3.

Predicted winner: Georgia
Florida’s chances of winning: 37.3%
The series: Florida leads 49-46-2

Gator fans, agree that Georgia leads the overall series, but they disagree as to the overall series record due to the disputed 1904 game.

As of the 2019 contest, Georgia leads with a 53–43–2 record by its reckoning and 52–43–2 by Florida's count.

This is a GATOR

Sad,

Don't see a 2-2 start, Damn sure don't see 1-3

Gators ain't losing to no Damn Land Sharks

This is just more of your usual gloom & doom !

Last season it was the Canes; this season it's the Land Sharks; get a grip !

According to THE DAILY MOUNTAIN EAGLE,
https://mountaineagle.com/stories/d...iss-miss-state-fall-into-the-7-10-range,26470

per James Phillips -

Land Sharks

Lane Kiffin is another first-year coach who will struggle to get bowl eligible in 2020. Ole Miss should win the games they are supposed to win and lose the games they are supposed to lose, before eventually taking down their biggest rival, Mississippi State to make it to a lower bowl.

per Jeffery Winborne -

Land Sharks

Two words, Lane Kiffin. Indeed, that Lane Kiffin has returned to the SEC after three seasons as the head coach with Florida Atlantic, leading the Owls to a 26-13 record. While his success there and as an offensive coordinator can not be overlooked, Kiffin has yet to prove he can win as the top guy at a major college football program. His tenures at Tennessee and USC were less than stellar, and Ole Miss is severely lacking the talent needed to challenge for the West. The Rebels/Black Bears/Land Sharks will definitely see improvement from a year ago, but unless Kiffin can pull off some sort of miracle, Ole Miss fans will have to settle for another year in the lower tier of the SEC.

Texas A&M

What has Jimbo Fisher done in his career to justify the position he continues to find himself in College Station? His only national championship came under Jameis Winston before leaving Florida State in shambles. Regardless, the Aggies no longer have Clemson on the schedule, freeing up at least one more win than a year ago. Kellen Mond returns at quarterback, but that experience can only go so far until Texas A&M can establish an identity and prove themselves to be able to consistently win big games.

Is this clown of a journalist a product of a tennessee education or something? Those are horrible math and stats mistakes.

At the end of the day, let me see any of these predictors put their own personal money down on these predictions. I understand they sort of do that by the by for their career, but you want to call the SEC East favorite as 7-3 this year, be my guest. We dodge Auburn and Alabama, and LSU lost way too much from last year, including their magical offensive coordinator who brought it all together for them. ATM will be tough for sure, but other than Georgia which is replacing it's entire offense this year, every other reasonably tough game we have is at home.

I don't see TAMU as tough. They are tough at home because their crowd is nuts. But there will be, what? 25% in the stands? All spread out? Not too loud, offense will be able to hear the calls. I doubt they can out talent us, and they certainly can't outcoach us.

LSU is tougher than TAMU, they have a lot more talent (than TAMU), and our home field is diminished. However, they have a new QB and a new offensive system, and lost a ton of offensive talent. They will be tough on defense, but I think mistakes will be the difference, and who will make more mistakes, the new QB in an unfamiliar system, or the returning QB in his third year in a system? I think you know my opinion here.

Georgia is an enigma. They are not just bringing in a new offense, it is a different offense in style and tempo. An offense, I might add, that they didn't recruit for and might have a few guys who are like fish out of water. They don't just have a new starting QB, they have a starting QB who has only been practicing with the team for a week. Think of him like a poised, mature for his years freshman who didn't enroll early and now has to learn the offense and get familiar with his teammates in 3 weeks in order to start the first game. I really see Georgia losing to Auburn, and Bama and possibly Kentucky before our game. If that comes to pass, that locker room is going to be a divided camp with a ton of finger pointing and you really could see the season go sideways on them. Fortunately for them, the last 4 games on their schedule are bottom feeders, so they can pull off a Vol season where they start off terrible but beat a bunch of patsies on the back end to feel good about themselves.

The only other team on our schedule worth a squat is Kentucky, and I am not too worried, they are also starting a new QB and really don't have our level of talent. Solid on defense, though, so we have to play a good game.

I can't believe Sad is worried about Ole Miss, they have no talent, are learning a brand new system, and have us the first game. If it isn't 50-3 they have earned a moral victory. Here's what was said in the Clarion Ledger "As a result, Kiffin said he and his staff may be forced to simplify their playbook in order to have players ready for the season. Condensing all the teaching that comes in the spring, summer and fall into a few weeks in the summer just isn't practical." A simplified playbook means, after the first quarter (because we have no film, we need the first quarter to see their plays) full on attack for a defense. We should shut them down. (Note that Georgia is in a similar situation. Do you think they may have to simplify their playbook? Hmmm...)

As for the rest, Tennessee is vastly overrated, and the other four (So Car, Vandy, Arky, Mizzou) are bottom feeders.

I think 10-0 is not only possible, but probable.

Assuming we don't get COVIDed.

I think in the ACC and SEC it’s fair to worry about everyone you’re playing. No spring, shortened practice hours and every single game counting towards division placement. There isn’t much let up or time to take a week to fine tune with a patsy game. This is gonna be weird but at least it’s happening.

The argument about TAMU not being as tough without their crowd will work against us as well.

remember how loud it was in the swamp against Auburn and their freshman about? Well...

So when UGA has 0 or 1 losses rolling into JAX, and a united locker room (we also have zero guys opting out for the Wuhan virus), what's your prediction going to be.
Also, your Ole Miss / UGA comparison is weak. Ole Miss doesn't have near the talent, athletes, and especially the depth that we do. You really seem to think Richt is still in Athens.

your confidence is bizarre.

I really don't get it.

it really that you have so much faith in Kirby and the Star rankings that you really believe you guys aren't going to be sorely effected by all the turnover, new systems, and lack of spring cohesion?

It's just baffling. I suppose after four decades, there's a mindset of hip springing eternal, but my goodness.....it's like none of you can be rational about your situation.

what's so terribly wrong with looking at the situation and at least having some healthy trepidation? Instead, you just scoff and say "when we're undefeated or have one loss heading into Jax."

seriously man? Why?

Unfortunately... or fortunately, it's really not going to take too much to be better offensively than we were last year. We were extremely predictable in 2019 according to some opposing staffs and still won 11 games in the regular season. We have as much talent and depth as anyone in the SEC... and even more in the East. Our defense is going to be elite... returning 80% of the production of the best defense in the SEC last year. We don't have to be 2019 LSU out of the gate. Florida will not face a green offense by November.
What do you want me to say? It's talking season...
Btw, your only top 20 win last year was Auburn and now LG89 has you running the table even though Mullen has a losing record against top 20 teams.

if that's the way you want to look at it....fine.

but I find it devoid of critical thinking.
Your defense will probably be fine, I'm not doubting that, but offenses tend to be more complicated than defenses, especially when it comes to cohesion.

I don't doubt that UGA will be whatever they're going to be by the time we play, but you're discounting the rest of your schedule before that.

and discounting reality.

if we were in the same situation that you are, I wouldn't be evening joking about being potentially undefeated going into our game.

It's like you think offense just magically happens when there's a slough of new people starting.

Again, it baffles me that you don't seem to have concern, simply because of "depth and talent."

you don't know what you actually have on offense.

but go ahead and say things like "you guys think Mark Richt is still here" and "Mullen has a losing record against top 20 teams."

If that makes you feel better, then by all means, feel better.

but you're being terribly naive.

Danny,

Absolutely agree !

On defense, 10 players get blocked & out of position, 1 player sacks the QB, great play !

On offense, 10 players make their assignments, 1 player misses a block, QB gets sacked, or team takes a penalty & everyone screwed up !,

I don't doubt that UGA will be whatever they're going to be by the time we play, but you're discounting the rest of your schedule before that; and discounting reality.

Also true,

Auburn at home & Bama & Kentucky on the road, back to back, will be difficult early games for Dawgs.

After the WLOCP, Dawgs seem to have a Tennessee schedule, but I still think that Mike Leach & Miss State will be interesting for Dawgs, the same way South Carolina was last year.

This really said it all.

sadgator wouldn’t say he is “worried,” but that dude is such a gigantic pain in the nuts that it just wouldn’t surprise him...

And 25k fans and some artificial sound could still make it hard on the road...

Can't have artificial sound unless they are in the huddle or a timeout.

If the offense can hear the calls, that's 80% of the home field advantage gone right there.
