To be honest, Cameron's record as KY AG has had mixed reviews. A lot of Ky-based posters on the UK board actually preferred the second-place candidate Ryan Quarles. That said, Cameron's high-profile in the state plus Trump's endorsement clearly put him over the top.
Trump had the foresight to endorse Cameron early. DeSantis endorsed Kelly Craft the day before the election (?), which ultimately did nothing to move the needle. DeSantis should have just sat this one out, or perhaps should have campaigned aggressively for her a long time ago, because the polling leading up to the election showed Craft had no chance of winning.
