Did Kyle Trask have his Heisman break-out game against #5 Georgia?

Fifth straight game that Kyle Trask threw for 4+ TDs - an SEC record (better than former SEC & Heisman winning QB's: Joe Burrow & Johnny Manziel who did it for 4-straight games).

A Florida-Georgia game record for a quarterback: 474 yards (30/43 4 TD, 1 int)!
In five games this season, Trask has two 400+ yard games and two 300+ yard games.

Imagine if Florida had a better running game to help UF's offense;
I think Florida would have an easier time of it with a more dependable running game.

I expected Trask to have a great game vs Georgia but I didn't think he would put up Heisman numbers vs this very Georgia defense.

I'd also like to say I'm happy we stole a 2 star QB from Dallas Baptist, or was that Houston Baptist?

So UM gets D’Eriq King and we get Kyle Trask. That works for me!

He’s in the conversation

Because of the team's Coronavirus infection & protocols taken, I think Trask & UF not being able to play for three weeks took him away from the conversation for a bit. Out of sight, out of mind. The same could happen to Clemson's Trevor Lawrence.

However, the long lay-off may have been good for Florida's team psyche (after the Texas A&M loss) to recover. It seemed to make a difference for the defense in preparing & playing better better in games. Also, the time off allowed more players to come back (i.e, Edwards, Campbell, ?White, etc.) on both sides, too.

When the team did come back, Trask and Florida's offense have continued to play at a very high level. Recall in that first game against Ole Miss, Trask (6 TD passes) & Pitts (4 TD receptions) came on like gangbusters. The national audience were starved for football entertainment and the media seemed to hype up the duo in the initial part of the season: i.e "The Kyle & Kyle show".

Can't believe he was sitting over there on our bench for 2 years before he got behind center. Crazy.
Trask had some bad luck with injuries ever since he set foot on the UF campus. Only reason we saw Franks, the Notre Dame grad transfer, and Luke Del Rio at QB in 2017. In 2018, I believe he had some sort of injury after the spring of 2018. After the Mizzou game in 2018, Trask was set to start at QB vs The Cocks till he suffered another injury during practice that week, hence the reason we were stuck with Franks along with him shushing the Gator faithful.

The defense was not good against UGa, the dawgs were just inept. Guys were running free all night, the QB's either didn't see them or simply missed the throw. And it's not like pressure was great. It was ok, but nothing special.

Watching Georgia was like watching a Muschamp offense. It really was. When they took 8 minutes to drive for their only score of the second half, they won the battle but lost the war. It was so Muschamp.

In Trask's Jr/Sr HS seasons, playing the 3rd and 5th series of each game:
17 TD's to 1 Int on 72% completions, with his coach telling anyone that would listen that he can play.
After watching his HS highlights and his Fr O&B game, I said that McLame should have made him the starter then.
McLame's answer was: Del Rio, Appleby, Zaire, Franks, then fired,,, and good riddance....

I'll give Dan and Brian credit for polishing the diamond, but they didn't start with a lump of coal... ;)

I’m not sure why Trask wouldn’t be the front runner imho. He’s the best quarterback in the best conference in the country. Simple deduction to me.

He's playing catch-up in name recognition. To be really in the running for the Heisman we have to win out and he has to light up Bama the way he did Georgia.

I'll keep Matt Jones in there for the same reasons, but Jones is certainly getting his numbers using a way higher rated talent level team, so there's still that in Trask's favor imo (biased) opinion...

Fields has talent, but he fled the SEC to play against the weaker schedules and defenses.
Much like those other QB's that flee the SEC for the Big-10-12-whatever chokers....

My own biased Heisman List goes like this, for now:
1. Trask
2. Jones
3. Fields
4. Pitts

Old dudes Brain Fart on TL.... --- My revised list:

My own biased Heisman List goes like this, for now:
1. Trask
2. Jones
3. Lawrence
4. Fields
5. Pitts

QB Kyle Trask named Maxwell Award player of the week.
Additionally, Trask was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week and named to the Davey O'Brien Award Great 8, Manning Award Stars of the Week and the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Honorable Mention list for his performance vs #5 UGly on Saturday. -----
Jus-damn!!! o_O

Nice article.

I particularly liked the part where they called a spade a spade and said the defense is awful.

But scoring so many points was helped by both Arky's willingness to go fast, and our willingness to let them score on long plays. Gave us a lot of possessions. They could have mentioned that, as that was a big factor in us getting to 63.

Said the guy who believes websites like Breitbart because they fit his worldview.

You really need to engage your brain occasionally before posting. You say some really dumb ish some, well, almost all of the time.

Never heard of Breitbart?
Is that a place that you live at? (that's rhetorical btw)
Spend your time with the dunnygoater, you both put me to sleep with your constant village idiot whining.

ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz

So what have we learned here:

1. You're a bad liar.
2. You don't know what rhetorical means or how to use it.
3. You have no clue about my relationship with DannyGator; we agree on nothing except our love for the Gators and disdain for you.
4. You've surrendered for the third time today. My ownership of you, it's getting embarrassing.

I think I need to give you some space to breathe now; with getting your backside handed to you so often today, I'd hate for you to do something drastic, like perceive reality. I don't think you could handle it.
